I've decided that I'm going to order an Apple Watch Series 2 (I did not have the first revision).

As I've browsed around US stores like Best Buy and Target, it looks like they have their own extended / 3rd party warranties they offer. I also heard Kohls is going to be selling them soon. I don't need to get one right away. I'm ok waiting a few weeks to find the right deal.

Is there a general consensus that any warranty (including AppleCare +) is the best?

Most people would say AppleCare + is the best warranty, just because you're getting it straight from Apple. However, if you're looking for a cheaper alternative (or don't live near an Apple Store) you could look elsewhere such as the retailers. What are their prices?

In my case, my credit card gives me an extended warranty of 2 years beyond the manufacturer's. And it's free, so a no-brainer there.

But not 2 years of damage coverage. So no brainier get AppleCare.

Considering the Apple Store usually just ships it elsewhere anyway, I'd say it doesn't matter how far away the store is since you can just get a mail in repair.
