Hey does anyone else's Apple Watch series 2 side button click quite loudly. Coming from the original it's quite annoying, is it like this just due to the water resistance or what?

I just checked my wifes gen 1. It is ever so slightly more solent than my series 2, but not something I would notice without checking. unsure if that means anything for either watch...

I don't know if I will ever notice this when I get mine. I didn't have WatchOS 3 so I never used the side button because it only did one stupid thing that I never needed. Curious to see if it's on all models though.

Yes, Black SS series 2 and the side button makes quite a loud click, almost a snapping noise. My old series 0 is not much different, though.

I just bought a series 1, 2nd generation aluminum watch and the side button is so non clicky I thought it might be defective. I'm used to the clicky side button on my series 1 SS watch. I don't know if this is due to a difference in the composition of the case or just individual variation. The button on my aluminum watch seems to work fine.

I just opened my SS black watch and the dock button is clicking when I press it. I tried my wife's watch 1, no problem at all. I'm going to return the product in 12 days(I had a sealed box on my desk for 2 days ).

iphone 7+ is hissing, button is clicking.... no words.

I don't think it should make a clicking noise. My SS 42 mm. Series 2 AW doesn't. I've had it since yesterday. Someone should phone Apple and find out what this is all about.

I went to the store and compared , my Watch SS black are clicky, display model not. I'm going to return my watch back to Apple

Yes, there should be nothing clicky about the side buttto. I suspect the button is slightly off center. That may be harmless, but it's not normal.

Thanks, going to send the watch back.

I just wonder whether you did exchange your Apple Watch. Does the new one has a less clicky button?

I bought my new Watch Series 2 SS black, and my side button does also make a loud click compared to the digital crown. Don't know if this is normal or a possible problem...

I changed 3 of them , same clicky. I kept the 3d, the 2nd had battery life problem.

So that's they way the button is supposed to be? I hate how clicky mine is!
I used to it. When I started to use them (#3exchange) they were less clicky, 15 days later after 2-4 swimming pools they started to click. I tried 5-6 watchs and all of them are the same. Apple watch series 1 are not clicky, but I swim a lot and it is good to have Watch series 2 for me.

it s 2020. I have Apple Watch s 44mm. and have th same click side button.
it s luck. because 2 years ago I had an aw 4 and it didn't have this strange sound.
