Anyone know if they made the bezels slightly smaller as some rumors said they might?

Go back 3 years and let's see tech journalist design a smartwatch that best Apple's. Simplicity, fitness, swim-proof and elegant fashion-conscious design. That'll win the day. Throw in watchOS 3 and you're onto something really nice. Meanwhile ugly round so-called smart watches that look like they are from the 90's get high praises round here from the ultimate trend setting keyboard warriors.

These changes will unlock the watch for alot of people that were holding back on Gen 1, particularly the waterproofing & GPS. It'll be interesting to see how sales go because of this.

I'll be getting one for the holidays just for the exercise aspect making it a replacement for my watch and fitbit.

Yep, I am in the same boat. I will buy the Sport version just to track swimming. I'll keep my Omega Seamaster for other occasions. Don't feel spending to much money on a watch that will be obsolete in less than 2 years. My dream would be all the features (minus the watch part, of course) of AW but on a band. That way I could keep my regular watch and have a device on at all times. Maybe someday.

"The Verge compared the thickness of Series 1 with Series 2, noting that Series 2 is about one millimeter thicker than Series 1"

That's surprising honestly, and will make me feel less bad about having to stay with my Series 1 AW until Series 3 comes out.

Rolex started using ceramic for their bezels about a decade ago... they are virtually scratch proof but the can crack/shatter with a large enough impact. I suspect we will see some that do once the masses get them.
I've got a ceramic cased Junghans watch. It's scratch free after 18 years of use and still looks like new.

Hm, Apple Watch 2 still has only 18 hours of battery life, which means that you can't really sleep with it, so in effect, no sleep tracking :(

The Samsung Gear s3, which also has GPS (and LTE on the Frontier model) lasts for 4 days, although it's a little larger and uglier....

What gives?

I bought the first generation Apple Watch Sport with the intention that it would hold me over while a more polished second generation came out, at which point I'd spend more to get a beautiful high end Watch.

I didn't think we were there yet with watchOS 3 solving the speed problems and only GPS and better waterproof specs (it was already waterproof) not being enough to replace my Watch.

Well, I have a feeling that $1299 is going to spontaneously fly out of my wallet when I see the ceramic in person.

I was just reading about it. And ceramic (usually) has the same weight as aluminium.

I bet one idiot will give the watch a massive impact (maybe with a hammer) and say it fell in the floor (from a feet high). Expect the most nasty click-baitey title article and propagation from all mainstream media. #watchgate

Are the sport watch bands on the Nike model swappable with the regular bands? I'm assuming they are but wasn't sure.

No reason to believe otherwise. In fact the Nike bands seem to be essentially the current sport band with perforations. If that's the case then wait for the $12 knockoffs if you really want one. They should hit the market in a matter of days.

Battery life still not good enough. I will stick with my Garmin until Apple gets it right. Great progress. I still think they should not have gone with such a battery intensive screen. But now that they've set that bar, they can't go back. Not sure how they are going to lower power demands enough, or get enough mAH from any reasonably sized battery to ever make it last for more than a day or so. I would also be interested if Garmin were to develop an app that allowed sync with Garmin connect. Because serious athletes often use Garmin.

Garmin also has some beautiful watches in addition to their sports cred. My dietitian was wearing this one last night and it looked really good:

Not for me obv, since round screens are still a terrible choice for a smart watch and no Apple Pay. But still I can see why the fitness crowd would spring for one.

Why is Apple continuing to pour excessive amounts of R&D, resources and money into a failed product called the Apple Watch? A company obsessed with making products thinner have just contradicted their own beliefs and marketing, and made their newly released product, thicker.

However no one is asking why?

If we 'Follow The Money', the corporations and people that run Apple from behind the scenes are desperate to convince the global population that being chipped through a form of RFID is a good idea, and are using Apple to push their banking agenda. In-order to deceive the public from realising this, the promotion of "Health and Fitness" is being used as the excuse to implement the needed programs and infrastructure in the background. This is why there is a massive media campaign currently to push implants, Pay Wave and Apple Pay platforms, as these same banking corporations control the media.

Can anyone confirm is the ORGINAL Apple Watch thinner than the series 1 Apple Watch? I feel like they revamped the 1st one so that they wouldn't have to explain that the 2nd one is thicker. I know series II is 1 mm thicker than series I but how do the series I and ORGINAL compare??

I've always thought this. First stage is smartphones then wearables then implants, they want us all microchipped and Apple Watch is a stepping stone to that.

I am going to wait for the Nike watch for sports and running. Hopefully there isn't any hardware difference than the regular watch. I'll probably buy a nice strap for going out. All I think its missing is better battery life now and hopefully Spotify offline music support soon. Pretty much close to a perfect watch IMO.

That looks really, really, really thick.

Seriously? Look at a metric ruler and see what a 1mm looks like.
[doublepost=1473382683][/doublepost]Apple say 18 hours, but did anyone else find that on the first gens the battery lasted way longer? I don't have FB or Twitter so i don't get hammered with notifications all day, but I did use the watch a lot and get a lot of text and email, and also use runtastic to track my daily ride.

Wonder if the GPS can be shut off?

Except with the flat tire the actual face isn't round. The case is, but not the face. Get the Huawei if that's important to you.
The flat tire is not a big deal in real life. It was only exaggerated by the tech bloggers. In real life, people never point it out. Many people even thought it's a new Apple Watch. :D I prefer the moto 360 than Huawei since it has less bezel.

I can't decide if I preorder tonight or wait. Stainless steel 42 MM is my preference. Gorgeous.

Is there any difference between the Nike watch & the sport version of the series 2. Besides that one is Nike.
