Hello,
I purchased my series 3 gps model almost a week ago. Had to take it off for work and it ended up getting scratched in my pocket. Upon further inspection I noticed something on the sensor itself. I can’t tell if it’s a chip in the paint or something else.. anybody else have an idea what it is? I’m not positive but the sensor cover seems to be made out of glass but where the “chip” is there is no rough feeling just smooth.

I'm gonna got out on a limb and say it's a blurry blob. Try again and "focus".:D

Sorry camera isn’t focusing well... here is another pictures it’s right at the top on the heart rate senor the white spot. Didn’t now if it was a paint chip but don’t see how when I don’t feel any roughness around the mark

Still looks really blurry and there’s multiple ‘white marks’ at the top of the heart rate sensor. If it feels like a chip, take it to Apple and get it checked. Depending on the Genius or manager, you might get a replacement. Or they might claim you damaged it.

Also. Do you work for the Cowboys?

Feels smooth no rough or chip feel to it. I was just curious if it was possible for the paint to come off some how. It got dinged in my pocket from my ring when I was working outside the other day. Just now noticed it. For your other question no lol just a life long fan.

I’ve read other people use a cape code cloth (Amazon) to remove some knicks and scratches in the stainless steel model. Not sure if it would work here. I am also not sure the heart rate sensor is painted.

Gotcha!

Ah ok thanks. You can see what I’m referring to though right? It’s on the actual sensor looks like
A white chip I don’t want to feel like I’m crazy lol

The Cape cod cloth won’t work on the back of the heart rate sensor, as it’s plastic or composite, where the cloth will remove scratches/swirls mainly on metals.

It’s likely under the composite backing, I believe another member had a similar experience to yours and there really isn’t anything you can do. (It almost looks like a silver flake in some angles)As long as it’s not affecting the heart rate sensor or spreading, I don’t think Apple do anything about it.
