What is your current move goal now? If it is 100 then it makes sense for you to double every day :D For mine, I need to double my goal for 8 times this month.
It was set at 500 in June and then July 1 came and it is asking me to double for 29 bloody times in July.

I hope I don't have that bug. I worked out too much on the watch and I was skinnier than I wanted to.

It’s actually fairly interesting to see how the Apple Watch transitioned from a fashion device when it first started to where it is now being promoted as a fitness device, and I think this is where the real benefits are for the user, is that it is an excellent tracker and others have proven their successes with weight loss/moving goals with the help of the Apple Watch.

They're promoting it as a "lifestyle" device, essentially like the Iphone. So yes, less fashion, but not really just a fitness device. Fitness is integrated in people's daily life instead of apart from it.

I have turned off all fitness features of the watch ever since I started closing activity rings while driving! If it can't determine the difference between driving and walking/running etc then it has no business in this industry.
I’ve had an Apple Watch since launch of the first model and have never gotten anything from driving (unless I’m dancing aggressively to great music)

Actually, it does happen. Last week, on our departure back to the mainland from Hawaii, I did not exercise that morning (too damn hot and humid to get all sweaty for the trip to the airport), and sat in the airport and then sat 6 hours on the plane. I closed my Move ring. Normally, the only way I can close my Move Ring is to excercise in the morning, then go for a hike or walk around the zoo for a few hours, etc.

So, no exercise. Sat in an airport, then sat 6 hours on the flight home and Move ring closed.

No lie. No exaggeration.

Elevated heart rate maybe?

I went through two broken TomToms before getting an Apple Watch 3. I think the AW3 does an adequate job of tracking fitness. What I don't like is that the only place I can review my past data is on the phone. I sometimes like to compare mile times on previous attempts on a particular route. It is difficult to do so on the phone. I prefer the TomTom web interface better.

My ring is closed and remains closed. Those with the tendency like to open their rings up to others but I keep my ring firmly closed, covered and do not show to anyone.
I sympathise with your position. I also think "Close Your Rings" is an advertising slogan that could have only been produced by someone who has utterly no knowledge of colloquial Australian English. Perhaps they could have made it worse if they had used the slogan, "Apple Watch. Relief for your Fanny."

My daily goal is 650, monthly double goal is 4 times. Seems reasonable.

Why would anyone need a front camera on a watch?

Does your pizza delivery shop requires FaceTime?

No, so that my wife can Facetime me and I can respond just by looking at my watch.

Great for the person who has to look up your nostrils the entire call.
Depends on if you look down on people all the time.

More like unrealistic goal...
If I made it this time, they are going to make it double the move ring 32 times in the same month next time.
I must admit, I find the watch to be a bit silly. It chimed at me this morning because I have usually done more exercise (on average, I guess) by 9am, yet today is HIIT day for me and if it looked back at any given Wednesday it would see I knock out at least 2500KJ but mostly at around 5:30pm. And when I pass my 2000KJ daily limit with a 35min HIIT session this afternoon it will 'encourage' me to stand up for one more minute sometime between 6pm & 7pm to close the stand ring for the day. You've got this! Things like that make me not take the item very seriously.
