My Series 4 died after a swim in the river. Infinite reboots. Sad.
Hello Series 8. I'm coming for you!
Hello Series 8. I'm coming for you!
Seven, almost eight generations in and I still don't have one. Finally found a use case that might justify spending the money, but I think I'm going to hold out another year. The health monitoring features are compelling, but definitely don't want to have another expensive gadget that needs to be replaced every 5-6 years.
Does anyone know if apple will also be upgrading Apple Watch SE later this year?
People forget - the SE hasn't been out 2 years yet. Before September 2020 it was the only option under £400. When my other half dropped mine on the kitchen floor the 3 was the sensible choice.Poor folks running S3's - Apple should not be selling that thing and should not have been for 3 years?
I believe you have to wipe it like its a new watch to get each individual update on it (least it was that way several years ago when I got my Series 6, my gosh was that update experience terrible - something I think former leadership would not have tolerated).
I just wanted a fitness tracker to improve my health. I landed on the Apple Watch (3) because I use other Apple products. The Watch really delivered and continues to do so.I can definitely relate to this. 👍
Though I am knee deep — chin deep even — in the Apple eco-system, I have tried and tried to like the Apple Watch.
I have even bought the damn things 3 times: a 6… returned it. An SE, gave it to my Mom. A 7… returned it.
I would sleep with it, cycle with it, do Yoga with it, text on it, try to control my music on it… unlock my Mac, get a thrill when I get a little tap on my wrist to remind me of something, send little heartbeats to my husband… I mean, hell! I tried everything to make myself love the damn thing.
No go. Nothing made it indispensable to my lifestyle.
Each time I reverted to wearing my traditional watches. The issue is I always have my iPhone near me, so the Watch was just another appendage.
I am sure with the 8 I'll dive in again and try again… *sigh*.
I don't think they updated SE 6 months ago. I believe SE was released back in 2020. according to this article, SE should be updated in the next month or so.Didn't they JUST release an SE update this year? The SE is updated 6 months after the main watch updates. It's the out-of-cycle update. If they stick to that, then it would be February/March 2023 before the next one?
100%. My battery is fine, I have no interest in the always on display as it wastes battery. Blood oxygen is inaccurate and pointless to me. The larger screen adds little to no value in reality. I will happily save some money for the Series 9!Yeah the more rumors I see about how the focus is only on the larger expensive Pro model, the more I’m inclined to wait another year for a cellular model. My battery on my S5 44mm is still good.
I'm still on original battery in my Series 0 - been lucky, I guessI should upgrade to this S8, I'm still using my S0 which got replaced, after the battery expended, under special warranty that cover this type of things after the warranty expired.
Because logical fallacy articles like this create revenue for the site.im confused.
How and why can we have articles like this comparing one watch to another that doesnt yet exist and is made up entirely of rumours?
Nobody *knows* what the series 8 will have. Already forgotten last year when the so called leakers showed the 'new flat sided series 7'? - how wrong they were.
Wait....a Yaris or Yaris GR? and which variation of the BMW Supra ?Next up: upgrading from a Toyota Yaris to a Supra. Will you notice a difference?
I turned off all notifications years ago and primarily use watch for exercise. still get all day battery life on the Steel 3. What do you all use these watches for? They seem like a dumb distraction to me and its too slow of a process to navigate and tap on things in apps compared to phone.
Yea my UI is laggy but all I do is turn a workout on through a screen shortcut.
I did the same as you, I bought the Watch 3 and returned it because it wasn’t as awesome as I expected. I eventually got the Watch 4 and I love it. I realised, unlike the iPhone or other products, it doesn’t have to be indispensable.I can definitely relate to this. 👍

I always wore a watch and now I have a watch that works as a tool to open gates, turns lights on, use as a timer, or alarm, add reminders etc. Yeah I can do all these on the phone, but just lifting my arm up to tell Siri….. makes things so much easier. On top of that, it encouraged me to get off my arse, and since I had it, my wife, best friend, his wife, his son, my son have all turned to it.
It’s not indispensable, and Im happy to put on a dress watch, but it makes life easier and I’m getting fitter with it. It also means I am deeper into the ecosystem as I need Apple Fitness (which is awesome btw).
😂Exactly exactly exactly. I’m gonna wear a watch anyway, why not one that does a few other things. If I don’t have it on, I’ll raise my wrist and be like OOPS it’s not there oh well.
I think a lot of people expect way too much of it or what it might become. I direct their attention to the App Store. What innovations have we seen there in the past years? Sleep tracking software? Zzzs (literally)
Someone in this forum even suggested that the name “Watch” is meant to be wordplay meaning it’s not just a watch, but so much more.
It really is just a watch, that’s why it’s called Watch. I think they would have called it iWatch if it were meant to be an extremely innovative and revolutionary thing. It’s a digital watch with some cool extras. Trying to make it look decent is half the fun lol.
