Apple has shared a new Apple Watch Series 4 ad on its YouTube channel, promoting its fitness-related features.

The 30-second video, titled "Better You," shows a person and several of his doppelgängers running and swimming with the Apple Watch Series 4. The ad ends with the tagline "there's a better you in you."

"Introducing Apple Watch Series 4," the video description says. "Fundamentally redesigned and re-engineered to help you stay even more active, healthy and connected. It's all new. For a better you."

The ad has also been added to the Apple Watch -- Films and Ads page on Apple.com.

Update: Apple has also shared How to Measure Your Heart Rate, How to Start an Activity Competition, and How to Make a Call on Apple Watch Series 4.

More ads and how-tos are likely to follow.

The marketing seems heavier compared to prior years, or am I mistaken. I wonder why?

There’s a lot of marketing geared towards the Apple Watch, primarily because of all the health aspects with it. But I can always appreciate how they make it witty, yet advocating certain features. Good marketing here.

I think they understand that this year's AW is the one to push hard with. It has a really BROAD appeal and there are many customers who are happy with their phone, but not their watch (or they don't have one). It is a growth market for them.

Honestly, a solid ad. It doesn't DIRECTLY say much, but it SHOWS a lot--which sells. It makes me want to upgrade my Apple Watch Series 2, even though mine does everything shown here. Thankfully my willpower to keep my wallet closed is able to resist their marketing. ;) iPhone XR: not so sure my wallet can stay closed on that one. May be time to upgrade my 6s.

Good work, Apple.

I’m sorry, I love Apple but when i see ads like this with tag lines like, “Theres a BETTER you in you!” I have to laugh. It reminds me of the alien invasion film THEY LIVE. Put on your magic sunglasses and suddenly all the ads & signs turn into one word subliminal messages like OBEY! & CONSUME! Lol.

Maybe I’m not the target audience, but I don’t need a watch to tell me to get moving. I just find the whole thing bizarre.

While I like Apple's recent ads (along with many other leading companies), I pretty much know what the experience is going to be: catchy music with quick cuts of strong visuals. Not being in the industry, I am wondering (again not specific just to Apple): Will there be a shift to a different approach? My sense it that I've become inured with the "music propelled" ones, and keep hoping someone is going to shift formats. My biggest takeaway now is whether or not I like the music enough to search out the artist (if unknown). A new take using an interesting discussion ala Long/Hodgman (does not need to be antagonistic).

As successful as iPhone is, it's sales are flat and will only decline going forward. On the contrary, Apple Watch sales will only increase over the next few years. Marketing penetration has adjusted for this shift.

Apple is the market leader for every product they ship (except for HomePod) so they will never mention or compare themselves to competition. The style of their ads might change but I wouldn't count on it until they change marketing firms or release an entirely new product line or service that requires a different type of message for a new audience like AR, self driving cars, etc.

Most adults these days DO need to be reminded to get moving. Hell, they need to be reminded to stand up at all. That’s why we are all so fat and weak.

These ads serve multiple purposes. You may not want features of the Apple Watch but you might want something else Apple sells. By pounding all of us with these ads, Apple is reminding us that they are the market leader for mobile fitness and communication devices. S the next time you shop for a new phone or smart speaker or whatever, you will assume Apple is the market leader because they are doing something right and you will be more likely to choose the Apple product just based on their past success. Whether that past is real or not might not have anything to do with your actual experience with their products.

Took mine swimming, now it doesn't work properly.

Don't like the ad. Concept is GREAT, but could've been better produced all around. It was too disconnected from one scene to the next. And the music chosen was terrible.

Your Series 4? Surely you're covered. It was just released!

You're definitely not the target audience if you have the self-discipline to stay active. I definitely could use a "coach" to help me! Looking forward to getting my own Series 4 in October. :)

What? I wear my watch from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to sleep. What do you do, put it on, then take it off, then put it back on, then take it off, then put it back on again, then take it off again? ‍♂️

The Apple Watch looks great when the screen is on. When its off, its "got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes"

Well they have a trillion dollar company with 10 products. Walmart is worth less with 50,000 products.
