Recently my series 4 suddenly had rapid battery drain. I let it drain to 0 and then restarted it. I believe the cause of the drain was the heart rate sensor being stuck on. Firstly, when I took the watch off after it went into low power mode the green sensor was still active. Secondly, my heart rate graph showed much more detail than usual.

I have tried switch off and on 3rd time for luck cos I read some people have to do it more twice get battery back normal again. Guess what? 3rd time worked! Now it 90% battery at 10:25am! That how it was before sudden drain. I also read online too that it not permanent though cos sudden battery drain keeps coming back. For now it be fine for me do this until September get new watch.
