Taiwanese manufacturer Compal Electronics will begin mass production of Apple Watch Series 4 models in November, according to industry sources cited by supply chain-focused publication DigiTimes.

Compal will share orders with fellow Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta Computer, which has reportedly reached its maximum capacity for Apple Watch Series 4 production following "much better than expected demand" for the latest models, according to Apple analyst extraordinaire Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo also said Compal will be added as a second supplier of Apple Watch Series 4 models, which entails final assembly of the wearable.

Kuo believes Apple Watch shipments from suppliers to Apple will fall between 18 million and 19.5 million units in 2018. Apple does not disclose Apple Watch sales, grouping the device under its broad "Other Products" category in its earnings reports, alongside the Apple TV, AirPods, HomePod, and so forth.

Apple Watch is the world's most popular smartwatch by many metrics, including market share and revenue. In fact, Apple says the Apple Watch is the world's most popular watch of any kind, having surpassed Rolex.

Many models of the Apple Watch Series 4 ordered on Apple.com today are estimated to be delivered in late October in the United States, lending credence to strong demand, limited supply, or some combination of the two. With a second supplier coming on board in November, availability should improve.

This is great to see.

Boy would they sell a ton more if they pulled an iPod and offered it on Android (which really doesn't have a good watch CPU), course that would require Apple Pay, iMessage etc. to be ported as well (a big job....but lay the foundation to lift a huge group of people over to Apple eventually).

What first seemed like an unnecessary impulse purchase has now led me to liking it better than iPhone.

Kind of ironic. With the increasing functionality, appeal, and acceptance of this devise Apple chooses to discontinue the SE. A smaller device many may have chosen to keep in their pocket/bag as interactions with the wrist increase. :apple:

Series 4 really is fantastic. It's the first cellular model I've owned, and it's definitely making me consider leaving my phone at home sometimes. Call quality is especially good over the new speaker and mic setup, and Siri seems a lot more responsive, even if she's still kinda dumb sometimes.

I am the same. Love the watch, starting to dislike the iPhone.
I was chatting to someone at work last week who thought the same, they didn't want the iPhone but needed it for the watch.

The Apple watch would sell like hotcakes if it could be paired with android.

Apple the company that likes to think it is saving the world, will let users use other OSs only when it suits them.
It would be great for a device that detects falls and afib could be sold to the masses without the need for an iPhone

I think they're selling like hot cakes. If I order now the delivery date is late October, and it is impossible to find an Apple store with a model available for pick up.

That sounds like the most un-Apple thing that they could possibly do.

Waiting for the day the iPhone is replaced by Apple Watch and Apple Shades (AR glasses).

I can never see one replacing the other. At least watch won't replace the smartphone. Even though we call it smartphone, it's a pocked computer with cellular capability. Browsing the internet, shopping, watching Netflix movies, video chatting, editing videos and photos on a move and lot more can never be done on an Apple Watch in efficient way. Just like iPhone is not as good as Apple Watch when it comes to health and fitness features. As for AR, remains to be seen what it can be useful for.

The supply constraints are kinda pissin me off i had to order the watch a week after launch and over that time the delivery date slipped from oct 15 to oct 19 thats quite the late delivery date in fact they havent even charged my card even tho i ordered it on sept 21. i think im going to die of hype

Not going to happen, it needs iOS apps and like you said they sold another iPhone because of it.

everyone loves a winner... remember all those that predicted what a failure this would be? I bought the series 0, not because it was great, but because I knew it was the first wave of the future and I wanted to learn. I can see why the series 4 would have the broad appeal... the larger screen, the better heart/exercise monitoring, and much more responsive apps. I don't think we are more than a series or two from complete autonomy.

A tip to those wanting to buy one... they stock a wide variety with straps already in the box. So maybe they don't have THE watch and THE strap combo you want, look around... I don't use the supplied band anyway (love the Milanese loop off of amazon)... so yep the watch I wanted with... a pink sports band that I will never use anyway. in stock. the watch I wanted with a nicer band? not in stock. guess what I did? I can always give the pink sports band away lol. Tick tock.
