I think they have way too many items to ship and there wasn’t enough cargo planes from China to US. That’s why people started to see their items go though Taiwan and South Korea, which is pretty abnormal. Mine was there for 2 days before it got redirected to Taiwan, then 2 days from there to AK then to the destination and got delivered.

Interestingly, both my Hermès watch and a separate Hermès band were all shipped from US with FedEx instead of from China unlike my other items.

I agree with this. I think we need to look at the global availability of cargo flights very differently than pre Covid-19. Even with Apple's enormous resources and their past history of paying carriers high premiums to move their product you simply can't make a 747F appear where there is none to be found. Demand for cargo conversions of older frames is skyrocketing, but it takes time, and availability.

Global freight has been changed enormously since March. The amount of product being moved via Air Freight is far more now and many items take priority over an Apple Device even if Apple pays a premium. We also don't know how willing or what the amount of extra compensation Apple is providing to carriers in this environment.

I'd bet this has been the largest logistical challenge in a product launch for Apple yet. If anyone is getting an iPhone 12 I'd pre order day 1, grab some popcorn and be ready to wait. :apple:

Agreed - although I should say that following other carriers on this thread, DHL seem to be struggling the most...

Good morning, Eindhoven-gang! 😅 Anyone with a update?

Apple website still say delivery tomorrow, Apple Store-app is for delivery on monday and DHL Express-tracking actually says „Huh? Apple Watch?“ as the status is stuck since last friday... 🥺👉👈
Regarding your inquiry about the status of the shipment JDXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, to which you refer in your mail, we inform you that the sender of the shipment, unfortunately has not yet made the physical delivery of the goods to DHL Express, has only registered the data in our system.

We recommend that you contact your supplier so that they can inform you when they plan to make the delivery to DHL Express, at which time the transport will start.

So, no information for "Eindhoven" ....

Finally Movement first time there’s been any movement update since the 19th. I’ll take it.

Same here would love to have it before the weekend. I originally wanted the new leather band but with the delays I decided to get a Plum colored sports band so no worries with sizing. My actual worry is coming from a 42 mm S3 how much bigger will the 44 mm be and will I like it. Would suck not to like it since I heard the 42 mm S3 bands fit 44 mm watch. I guess I would have to wait and see.
I don’t think I saw the plum sports band! I’ll have to take a look! Also, looks like my watch left Kentucky, hopefully on its way to BWI and then to me! Fingers crossed you get yours before the weekend!

For Eindhoven peeps - this has just been posted in the UK thread post, see post #627

Credit to TwiceNightly (interesting name ;)) - "Just had a chat with Apple support, apparently my watch is in Amsterdam (not Eindhoven) and will be delivered tomorrow. They said DHL will update the shipping info today when the watch leaves the Netherlands for the UK."

Thanks, it helps. I'm currently at "Departed from facility" that you had at 6.32 AM, but I'm a little behind since I have it at 10.21 AM. No idea to where I'm heading at right now.

Then it's probably going to Incheon during the day and catching UPS11 tomorrow maybe. UPS11 left Incheon almost 5 hours ago. But if it missed UPS11 it must have either taken another plane to Incheon or it will be loaded on UPS11 in Shanghai tomorrow. Or if it goes another route. Not sure which routes are used on Fridays.

Okay so mine has shipped and is in China coming to the US.
How are you guys finding out what plane it is on?

From the latest departure scan and checking flightradar24 or flightaware for matching flights. Did it just leave Shanghai? Not seeing any flight from there to Incheon or Anchorage right now.

By the way, UPS89 is touching down in Anchorage in 5 minutes going from Incheon.

I just called 900 150 503 (Apple). They didn't know anything about why he's still in Eindhoven. The woman who answered me, made a call to DHL, and they told her that they are still in Eindhoven because they are in the process of customs, and she could not give me any more information.

She herself has commented that it is probably not because of the customs process, because if she is in the Netherlands, and the shipment is European, it should not take too long and she has given me to understand that she is not yet in the Netherlands, but that DHL would be waiting to receive the watch. And that's as far as he's been able to tell me.

Additionally, I have commented that if the delivery date is September 29th, which I am sure I will receive at the latest on the 29th, that I should not despair (although it is difficult xD).

Interesting! Did you order on 15'th as well?
I found a website (parcelsapp) where you can search with your apple order number. it does not show anything extra other than DHL data and est time, It does say it would be delivered by Monday 28'th. this is different than what the apple site says (24 September).

Thank you for the information. Yeah, I guess somehow they get slowed down during the weekend, since UPS estimated deliver is now on September 30.

So I got it correct that even though the startpoint is Eindhoven, the goods still need to be delivered from China? And as this thread is going crazy about watches, I assume we have a flight from China to NL by DHL? :D

Mine was on the flight that left Korea last night. It landed in Alaska like 45 mins ago but no arrival scan showing up on my ups tracking page. Just says departed the South Korea location at 12:30 pm ( their time). Anyone else on UPS 5X89 got a status update?

I guess you are in Munich. I have friends in Braunschweig (Niedersachsen, in der Nähe von Wolfsburg) and Hamburg who received their watches on Tuesday. Strange that you don't have it yet :(
