Hi All,

I somehow managed to get a small crack on the bottom right corner of my screen on my 4 day old SS 45mm Series 7.

Luckily I have Apple Care and am on the phone now with support to set up an Express Replacement.

I’ve never had to go through this with any of my previous Apple Watches, but have with iPhones. The first time the phone had been out for like 6 months so the replacement unit I got was refurbished. The second time was the week after launch and I was sent a brand-new, not refurbished phone.

Do you think my replacement watch will be a refurbished unit, or is it likely that it’s too early for them to even have refurbished units to send? Is there any way to tell once I get the replacement?

So frustrated that this even happened after never damaging any of my previous watches having had an Apple Watch since the day the Series 0 was launched.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

They definitely would not have refurbs available less than a week after launch.

I hope that’s the case! Already frustrated that it got cracked somehow (I’m sure I must have hit it without noticing, but given that it hasn’t happened with any of my previous three AWs and this glass is supposed to be more crack-resistant), so fingers crossed it’ll be a “new” replacement.

Update: as of yesterday the AppleCare reps told me their system to send an Express Replacement was not working for the S7 yet. Still in limbo with no idea if/when I’ll get a replacement.

The stores usually have some extras for DOA reasons, etc. Check with them. :) Bummer that it happened to you.
