Hey all, my Apple Watch series 7 is charging at an incredibly slow rate, roughly 25% in 45 min (from 55% to 80%, even from 10%-35%). I’m using the original cable and Apple 20W charger. Tried hard reset of the watch a few times but doesn’t help. Series 7 is supposed to charge from 0-80% in 45 min or so I have heard.

Anyone else having similar issues? And any help here?

This just happened starting yesterday. I am using the same combo you have. I even tried a different cable and charger. It used to be super fast. Please keep me posted.

Interestingly mine started getting weird after I activated the cellular on my watch. I did turn the cellular off last night after encountering slow charging again and it seemed to fix the issue.

Yes disabling it doesn’t work sadly. Even though optimised battery charging comes in to play after battery is charged 80%, not before.

Mine is GPS one.

I am at WatchOS 8.3. Sometimes after restarting the watch it starts charging at normal/faster speeds but even that’s not a given.

My mom had an issue with charging her watch because the puck was installed backwards on her watch charging dock. When she would place the watch on the dock it would charge very slow or not at all because the puck was backwards.
If you are using a dock, maybe this is the case too?
Cheers ?

Even more oddly, when I disable Optimized Charging, it often only charges to 89%.

Then when I enable it, it only charges to 90%.

Restarting the watch (with OC disabled) usually rapid-charges it to 100%.
