Checked again week before launch and no dice on the magnetic bands.

Any guesses if they will stock by 9/22 ?
Or within 14 days of launch day ?

If not, Apple will get me for another $99 as I will be forced to buy the magnetic band for $99.

Not in the mood to return it and order another....
Just not going to play that game... if they ever release the magnetic link bands, I will order (and wait for backorder)...

Yep. Chatted again today and was informed they don't have a release date at all for them and to really just keep checking sadly.
I fired off a nasty-gram to Timmy following the iPhone event about the misleading information provided re: "order today for delivery on 09.22"... got a call on Wednesday from "Pete" in Apple Retail Executive Relations ... he gave me the stock song and dance about how Apple listens to their customers "concerns" (his word)... but the same "blah, blah, blah" about supply chain, and "they're coming, but not sure when they will be available for purchase". Ok, they "listen", but where's the relevant action?

Of course, Timmy could have preemptively handled this by simply stating that the "textile" bands would be available "soon" or some such phrase. I'd be done with Apple in a heartbeat if there was somewhere else to go... but I just can't do Android or Windows.

I chatted again this morning and was told the same it is not available and they dont know when.

I believe most, if not everyone, would be fine if they just had a badge that said available soon or at a later date.

Disappointment comes from expectations not being met.

Apple missed the mark on properly setting customer’s expectations.

the biggest problem now is this delay could really drag out the ETA on the watch considerably by the time this band is ready.

Ended up just giving in and getting another sports loop. Company pays for it but needed by end of the month. Will end up going through the hassle if it gets released later to exchange.

I talked with someone on Apple chat and they said the band sold out so quickly that they don't expect it to be in stock again for the next couple of weeks. It's not even going to be in stores for a while because it was so popular that they have no stock, they said that you'll most likely have to order it online when it's available again.

Same here, ordered the sports loop just to get the watch on launch day.

I'll order separately for the magnetic band whenever they stock it.

At least it will be covered for free from my credit card (X1).

That is pure poppycock. There were never any of the textile bands... and whoever told you that BS was flat out lying. Tim Cook and his cronies are snakes. And the "chat" people are their bots, spreading the lies. I challenge anyone at Apple so show me ONE order for an Apple Watch with a textile band that was placed between Monday and today.

Yeah that's false. Been checking since store opened and it's been a ghost like we have been saying. One day it will release.

I am really torn. I was planning to wait to buy the S9 with the band and now that there is no indication of when the band will be released, I am starting to wonder if I just buy it with another band and bite the 100 bullet later on. The big question is what band is comparable. Any idea if the magnetic buckle will be water resistant - can we work out in it?

Apple has 30 different bands but you can only order 2 or 3 of them. If that’s not apple being apple I don’t know what is. I wanted the starlight with the magnetic link band, for $50 more of course, and you can’t get it. Apple rep said they don’t know when it will be available. So why advertise then?? I ordered the starlight with the sport loop woven band. No 15 for me. Not worth the upgrade over the 14 P Max I have now. The 9 really isn’t that much of an upgrade over the 7 i have now but they have me a good trade in value. Don’t have to deal with the hassle of eBay.

Exactly said as I am perturbed with Apple's hasty advertising and not able to deliver.

Same, keeping the 14+ and 14PM for another year.

S7 to S9 hoping for longer battery life.
If not, I'll return it and get the Ultra 2.

I happened to stop at the Apple Store and asked about the textile link band and a store employee mentioned that she had just read a memo that the band will not be available for the launch and most likely it will not be available anytime soon. She suggested buying the watch with another band if I wanted the watch soon.

Apple should have just mentioned somewhere that the FineWoven bands were coming later. Not everything is always available at the same time, but there's nothing wrong with being at least a little transparent about it, like maybe putting a little "coming soon" banner under them on the online store or something.

You and I think so, but apparently, it doesn't matter.

It's the little things... things like this and like them crippling the Apple Card zero percent finance thing that show me that Apple is no different from any of the other companies preying on the consumer.

It really feels like no one at Apple has even noticed this oversight.

Edit: It now says "Check Back Later For Availability".

Apple card crippled ?

Can you elaborate ?

The zero per cent financing is gone unless you’re buying a phone for VZW, ATT or TMO.
Confused...🧐

I just used the Apple Card for 0% on the S9 order from Apple.com..

You can no longer get 0% on “chose your carrier later” iPhones, only on att,VZ,tm when using you Apple Card…
Can you buy the iPhone as an unlocked device without a chosen carrier ?

I remember I used to be able to get an unlocked iPhone and later assign it to a carrier, MVNO, or pre-paid service.

Yes you can but you’ll have to pay full price upfront. I did get my unlocked 13PM on 24 months 0%
