Apple Watch space black link bracelet

So I bought mine from Apple about 2 years ago. My dad just got a watch and bought one as well, and this new one is like 6 shades lighter than mine. Mine looks space black where his looks gunmetal grey.

Is this normal ? Its def not "space black" anymore if it is. Strange. Mine on the right.

Well spay grey is what they list for the color but I think Apple changed it slightly from previous years. I bought a midnight leather link recently and when compared to my black sport band it's more of a blueish dark grey. The series 7 has graphite instead of space grey so maybe that's why the bracelet to match

Thats what I thought but its listed as space black still

haha well both are from apple with the box and receipt. the receipt and box match 100% except mine from 2 years ago (on the right) is way darker

They're both real for sure. I have no idea why they changed it. I guess you could take it back and check it against another one but I bet it will be the same. The darker one actually looks like it would match the older space black stainless steel watch (the S7 Hermes also still comes in space black) where as the lighter one looks like it would match the space grey aluminum. The S7 comes in graphite stainless steel so maybe it closer to that color.

So I got an email back from Apple. The lighter color is intentional now since the new SS watches are graphite and this color matches it more.

I agree. If they change the color, they should change the name.

I’ve noticed this with Space Grey on Nike+ watches from the S3/S4 change during S5/6/7 now. The latter looks much lighter than the former mentioned.

That stinks. I purchased one for pick up today to go with my Hermes space black, but if it’s not a perfect match I won’t keep it.

It’s not a match in bright light at all, but i think it could work. It’s really a dark grey, but the shininess and shade make it match in some lighting. However I’ve heard that the original sb link was darker, so I wish I could get one of those.

Yeah I still have the super dark one from a few years ago. I treasure it lol. The new one isnt bad its just when I compare it to the one I own its too much a difference (for how expensive it is)

The older one does look 10x better tbh.

I had the DLC coated Apple Watch band but had to return it because my wrists change in size from morning to evening and the band does not change sizes without adding or subtracting a link.
