Personally, I wouldn’t want the Moon on watchOS. What I’d appreciate instead is having visible second hands on all watch faces (starting with Apple Watch Series 10 and beyond) when in standby, not just the new ones. It would also be nice to have a photo face with analog hands.
Another issue: e-scooters are still being misclassified as bikes, inflating calorie estimates even if you choose not to log the activity. This really needs fixing.
Also, having Passwords on Apple Watch would be genuinely useful.
As for the hardware, I’m always hoping for better battery life. While it might be enough for a workday plus an hour of workout, it falls short for a full outdoor day—even a non-sporty one like a day at the beach. Bright sunlight drains the battery quickly when the screen is always on, and LTE makes it even worse. Ultra is ok, but unfortunately my wrist is too small for it.
As for AI features, most of them feel like gimmicks on the Watch—except maybe summarized notifications, which are already handled quite well by the iPhone anyway.
Apple’s strategy so far has been to keep battery life constant (which is already quite limited), and to use any efficiency gains—whether from screen tech, CPU, or battery improvements—to add new features, boost performance, or make the design thinner. Personally, I’d rather they invested all that progress into better battery life, even if it meant no new features and no design changes.
