The Ultra's thickness and size is really what most men are accustomed to. I really don't understand why Apple is on the 10th+ generation of the Apple Watch that is basically unisex and trying to please both men and women with 1 size. Is Apple that paranoid to make a "mens" and "womens" versions of watches? Serious question.

Make the Ultra's size (and hence battery life too up to 36 hours) available for far less money and drop some of the bells and whistles that differentiate it from the Ultra. I dunno. I really like my Series 7 but the size really could be larger and thicker and I wouldn't care.

And I really prefer the thinness of the Series 10. With the fast charging on S10 I don’t have any battery issues. I won’t be out in the wilderness for days at a time so a 36 hour battery is more than enough and the ability to charge up in 30 minutes makes it super easy to use.

If you buy a new Apple Watch Ultra 2 in July and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes out in September, you know what happens to your Apple Watch Ultra 2?

Absolutely nothing.
It undergoes immediate devaluation. Moreover, new features are unlikely to work on the outdated device. Furthermore, future software updates will screw up the battery life. You’re right, nothing happens to your old outdated brand new Apple Watch.

It “undergoes immediate devaluation” the second you open the box. That’s how electronics work. And you’re years away from not getting software updates. New software updates won’t screw up battery life as much as actually using the thing, increasing the cycle count on the battery just like you would have if you bought it last year — and, importantly, just like you will on your new AWU 3.

If you buy this watch now and like it, you’ll like it just as much in October after the new one comes out. If that ends up not being true, then you’re not really in it for the product. You’ve just been tricked by a marketing campaign.

Not true, Tim goes out with a ball-peen hammer and starts smashing wrists with it if you don't have the latest Watch.

I would argue they always have made them - since day 1 they've offered two different face sizes. That said, I have no reason to believe women want a smaller watch considering how many of them carry a "handbag" the size of a small suitcase. Also, not all men have giant Jack Reacher-size wrists yet a lot of the watches I see could be worn around the neck like Flava Flav's clock.

I couldn't wait for the iPhone 17 Pro Max for various reasons, but I can definitely wait for the AWU3. I feel like either way, it should be a somewhat noticeable jump from my AW6. I will still probably use my AW3 though. Other than its battery life at this point it isn't a bad watch.

I am still on AWU1. Still waiting that they add back blood oxygen measurements; that's a must to be called sports watch or fitness watch. Also the crown should be on the other side of the watch or better protected against involuntary presses. I don't remember how often I pressed the button while wearing wrist wraps or lifting straps.

My Apple Watch 7 series already has poor battery life, it can only make it through 2/3rds of a day if I actively use it.

Whereas my ULTRA 2 gets around 1.5 days before I recharge (almost 2 days in actuality, but I never let it run down that low!). I charge to 80% and wear to around 40-50%. That’s a few hours more than a day to use 30-40%.

I bought my Apple Watch Ultra 2 just before the Blood Oxygen ban kicked in—as we all saw it was coming once the case was lost.
I’m still very unhappy about that for us all—that Apple are such shysters they would steal the patent work, and when caught, remove the feature from the 10a of millions of watches rather than pay what they justly owe to Masimo.

Are there still adults buying these gadget watches nowadays? 🤔

In many ways, the AWU is the best product Apple has made in years, so yes.

This is a decent price for this watch, though I wish it were $100 cheaper. Black with black ocean band is a nice combo I've seen in the wild a decent bit.

Keeping it in low power mode while at work can definitely help. That is what I do. My batteries capacity is 69%. It can last a whole day doing that, however I have to charge it before sleeping, and I might even try to charge it a little bit while I get ready to go to work. However I do find it still dying from time to time. I seriously thought about waiting until end of next year to get a watch because while it does get slow in certain scenarios it's overall still pretty good, but by the end of next year I would guess the capacity would be at 59% or worse, and since the latest and greatest is around the corner probably going to opt for that.

We're still waiting for accurate blood pressure and continuous glucose monitoring. Tim

A new M4 Macbook, on sale, is only $150 more than an Ultra Watch 2 on sale.

M4 MacBook Air on sale is literally one of the best priced Apple products ever sold, so that’s less of a knock on the watch price than you think. The watch also includes titanium, sapphire glass, oled screen, cell modem, health sensors, etc. There is a lot in there
