This is a steal for anyone who's been eyeing the Apple Watch Ultra 2! At $649, it's the lowest we’ve seen — and considering the rugged build, advanced health tracking, and longer battery life, it's actually solid value for a premium smartwatch. If you're into outdoor activities or just want top-tier features, this is the time to grab it. Thanks for the heads-up — deals like this don’t last long!

Happy the ultra 2 was basically a black ultra “0”. So I might effectively purchase the ultra 3 if it comes out with true upgrades. As far as Apple Watches go, I think I made the best purchase decisions up to now. 2-5-9.

I still feel pretty good about snagging a black titanium AWU2 with the ocean band, Geek Squad certified open box for $399 a couple weeks ago. Arrived with everything but the box. Watch had zero signs of wear and battery health was at 100%. Don't forget to check "other buying options" when checking out Best Buy.

Upgraded from Ultra 1 to Ultra 2 before the BO sensor/software was turned off. I have blood oxygen issues at times, so will not acquire the Ultra 3 or later until that option is again available.

I have Apple Care coverage on the watch and as long as I pay the premium, Apple will have to keep it working (seven years is the magic number and I believe the patent expires before that time).

Place a U1 beside the U2 and there is no visible difference between the two with the same color metal. Obviously the black metal U2 looks different.

Heck, with the last three or four years of iPhone Pro Max models in a case, there is virtually no visible difference except perhaps color .

Since the start of "soldered" memory and SSDs, we have acquired Apple laptops and iPads with maximum memory and maximum storage (4TB or more SSDs when necessary in laptops with those options)

Place a M1 Max 14" MacBook Pro beside a M4 Max 14" MacBook Pro. Can you see any difference in the cases? A TSMC chip change and the ability to have both more memory and larger SSDs and I/O tweaks to the latest revision are the differences.

Even the MacStudio enclosure is a constant design with no outward changes between the processors and I/O openings.

Apple is getting their money's worth out of the dies for their enclosures over many generations but different guts inside.

Much more profitable than changing the external case annually.

Keeping it in low power mode while at work can definitely help. That is what I do. My batteries capacity is 69%. It can last a whole day doing that, however I have to charge it before sleeping, and I might even try to charge it a little bit while I get ready to go to work. However I do find it still dying from time to time. I seriously thought about waiting until end of next year to get a watch because while it does get slow in certain scenarios it's overall still pretty good, but by the end of next year I would guess the capacity would be at 59% or worse, and since the latest and greatest is around the corner probably going to opt for that.
I find that if I put the watch in Theater Mode, I get several extra hours out of one charge. It’s just not my favorite mode if I’m out and about.
In terms of the next watch, I’ll be curious to see what (if any) real new features there are to distinguish it from the Ultra 2. But I’m not replacing this watch for a few years. It does everything I need and has good battery life.
