Thinking of upgrading from my Apple Watch Series 6 (44mm) to the new Apple Watch ultra 2. Anyone know Will my series 6 watch bands work with the new Ultra 2 or will I have to buy new ones for the Ultra 2

while they will work as long as they are the 42/44/45 versions, you might not like how they look on the Ultra. I tried all my existing bands when I got the Ultra last year and didn't like the look, so haven't put any of those on my Ultra, but, YMMV

What didn’t you like about the bands on the Ultra. Do you recommend any bands other then the apple bands for the Ultra

Is the new modular Ultra 2 watch face available on Ultra as well in watchOS 10?
Yes, it has been confirmed on Reddit. Patiently waiting for WatchOS 10 next week :p

They work great and my absolute favourite band on my Ultra is the Apple Leather Loop (Saddle brown). The strap is nice and thin so actually makes the watch seem smaller on the wrist.

Wait how did you do that? My crown no longers let me turn night mode on after updating the OS =/
So when you push and hold the display like your adjusting color or complications, Night Mode has its own settings. You can turn it on, set it to auto (which how I have mine) or off. I love auto because I don’t have to toggle anything or manually switch at night time.

Oh man, I will miss the old way as I turned it on as needed

just the look, I think I posted pics here last year ...
I've tried a few 3rd party bands over the years and I only buy Apple bands now.
but there are others with different opinion/experiences, check out the threads in the AW accessories subform, plenty pics of AWU with non-Ultra bands

The Ultra is not dainty. Many Apple Watch bands are intended to be slim / elegant … but they get dwarfed by the watch.

I do have a cheap leather band that I got for my S4 that actually works as a not-bad “dress up” band for the Ultra, and looks better on the Ultra than it did on the S4.

It’s purely a matter of taste, but, for the Ultra, I personally would recommend more industrial / brutish / rugged types of designs. If I had money, I’d get the Sandmarc band for “dress up” purposes. I don’t have money, but my year-old Starlight Alpine band is starting to fray, so I’ll be getting an Ocean band before too terribly long.
