The long wait for an Apple Watch Ultra 3 is nearly over, and a handful of new features and changes have been rumored for the device.

Below, we recap what to expect from the Apple Watch Ultra 3:Last year, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 received a black titanium case option, but otherwise the Ultra model has not received any hardware upgrades since 2023.

After a two-year wait, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 should be unveiled in September.

Well, after 2 years there needs to be more that what is listed here to make me upgrade from my OG U2:
. Blood oxygen needs to come back
. A new health sensor is a must

There might be some redesign given the 2 year timeframe ...

The listed features are merely evolutionary, AW needs a killer feature to boost it up.

Blood oxygen feature already exists. No need to reinvent the wheel. Nor is it possible because the patents are on the configuration of LEDs and photodiodes.

The blood pressure feature is nice. But the Ultra needs to be slimmer, similar to S10 for wider adoption. Right now, it's like wearing a wrist clock.

Looking forward to upgrading from my Ultra that is coming up on 3 years old. Still runs great but starting to feel a bit sluggish at times.

I’ve said it before in other Apple Watch threads, and I’ll say it again: I really wish Apple Watches had blood sugar/A1C measuring. That would really help diabetics

I would love to see something like this but I feel like it's still near impossible to get such measurements from optical sensors. Also, I think it would be very helpful for everyone to start understanding implications of sugar / carbohydrate intake (though I understand why it would really help diabetics).

I bit and got the Ultra 1st gen and really like it but going forward I think I’ll stick to the larger regular Apple Watches.

I really wish they’d give it a camera. The Dick Tracy FaceTime would be awful from an ergonomics perspective, but a small camera on the side would be great in a bind (car accidents, important signs, QR codes, etc). Would make going phoneless a lot easier.

My Ultra 1 is still sitting at 100% battery. Satellite texting and a slightly larger screen are nice things to have, but not sure they are necessary.

A lot of people buy new versions of Apple Watches, and keep the old ones. I don't think people will be doing that with the Ultra given the cost. I will see what trade in values and such are when this is announced. Maybe the Hermes version would be a nice change of pace (plus, you can get a cool blue fabric band). But doubtful I will upgrade without a new sensor.
