I bought my Ultra with a Blue and Grey Trail Loop, at the same time I bought a black Ocean Band and have since bought a Yellow Ocean band. I have a black and grey trail loop on order that will arrive at the end of November and a Yellow/Beige one ordered for the beginning of Nov.

I found the Alpine Loop difficult to put on in store when trying them but have since been advised on here that it becomes second nature with practice so will give it another go. I do like the Orange colour.

My thoughts are that the trail loop seems to be the one with the most ability for micro adjustments, I wear the Ocean bands for swimming as I think the others are unsuitable (my opinion only).

Edit; As an afterthought, I have found myself only using the Ocean band when I am working out as I want to keep my trail loop as fresh and clean as possible, I only seem to wear it when not doing exercise (sweating) or swimming. I know, I know, I should but, I just like to keep it all clean.

I got mine with the white ocean band and I’ve gotta say for me it’s the most comfortable band-The Ultra and the ocean band I find to be quite comfortable. This is my favorite Apple Watch so far - I love the 3 days of use before charging too

Also with the White Ocean Band. I originally wanted the Trail Loop but now that I'm seeing more and more of it, I'm afraid the pull tab will get caught and stuff. So now I'm intrigued by the Alpine Loop but not sure if I like the clasping mechanism and possibly being between too tight or too loose. Alas alas.

I’ve got both the alpine and ocean, with a trail loop on order. The ocean is surprisingly comfortable and easy to use, despite its bulk; and I like how the ribs keep it off the wrist for breathability and quick drying. I got the white, which I like a lot, but after seeing the blue in the store I’d probably have preferred that one. I think in person it’s almost black, whereas photos make it look more blue than it really is.

The alpine is comfortable and looks good, but imo, is a real pain to take on and off. Great for when you need a band that absolutely won’t come loose, but then I’ve never had that issue with any other band so I don’t know how much of an advantage that really is. I tried putting it on in the dark early the other morning and had to give up and flip on a light. I wouldn’t recommend it, personally, at least from a functional perspective. For what it’s worth, I did have the orange, thought it was too too much, so took it back to the Apple Store to get a darker one - but ended up with the white instead. It’s more of a putty color than white, and looks cool in a Star Wars sort of way, both the design and in the sense that I think you could get it dirty and beat up and it would still look good.

I suspect that the trail loop will be almost exactly like the current sport loops, which means it will be pretty much perfect for day to day use, at least for me. I’ll probably use it most of the time, the ocean band when paddling, and the alpine loop never.

I am a runner and really wanted the Trail loop, but as this forum knows, they have been hard to get. So I got the Alpine loop in green with my first watch. I didn’t really like the closure and found it hard to manipulate. Instead, in the meantime, I got a watch with the Ocean band in blue. I actually really liked the look, much to my surprise, and I think its bulk, in some ways, helps better match the size of the watch itself. I found it all day comfortable and easy to use.

This weekend, I had a marathon to run, so I decided I would hit the local Apple store to just see if they happened to have the black Trail loop. Even though it didn‘t show as in stock on the Apple site, they happened to have one from a band exchange someone did, much to my surprise. I used it for the marathon and liked it. It’s very soft and the velcro closure is much stronger than that of the similar traditional sport loops (or whatever the velcro ones were called). I tried to do a sway today of the Ocean loop for the Trail one I bought, but it isn’t possible, so I think I’m stuck with both… But I kind of secretly want to have both — so this gave me an excuse. Although historically, I have not been a frequent band changer…

So in summary, my view:
Alpine Loop — not for me
Ocean Band — looks the nicest, and will use when I need the watch to look a little more business-like
Trail Loop — will be my daily driver and exercise band

Oooh I like this assessment and man now I want to visit my local Apple Store to see if there's any unreported trail loop bands available!

Could someone measure their Medium Alpine loop for me please, stretched out from end to end? From clasp to end of G-hook?
You got your answer above, but for example, my wrist measures 216mm and I am wearing a large Alpine loop band. It comes in 3 sizes.

I went with the white Ocean Band. I usually wear a Nike sport band for working out and outdoor activities, and I think this will work in those instances, like playing golf or biking. The midnight version would probably look pretty dressy, while the white looks more active to me. Not a fan of yellow, so that wasn't an option.

So far, the Ocean Band is very comfortable and not heavy at all. The bit of stretchiness is really nice, and the design does allow for air to circulate under it. I considered the green Alpine Loop, but after trying on both in person, the Ocean Band was an easy choice.

Ever since I got the trail loop, I’ve been wearing it all the time and the alpine loop is just sitting on the shelf.

So soft and comfortable!

I had one but returned it. It’s soft and feels nice but I like the trail and alpine loops more.
ok will see, was thinking might be a bit more formal looking when needed lol, maybe not. I don't mind the orange on the watch but that orange tag on the black trail sort of turns me off it, long wait for the blue/grey trail band.

The Apple Watch Ultra came with a Starlight Alpine, but I use the Link Bracelet since the start. Out of curiousity, I tried the Alpine loop. It is really not my thing. The material feels a bit ‘cheap’ to be honest. Also, the hook is easy to slide in, but difficult to take out and get the band off.

I immediately admit I am spoiled with wearing the Link Bracelet for years. I will keep it that way. Please note, I use the Watch Ultra as my main watch. I am not sporty and not the target group. But the Alpine for me was quite a disappointment.

It’s understandable you don’t like the band since you’re not the target group as you stated.

The Alpine Loop band is exactly what I’m looking for in this Ultra watch built for activities. It’s super light, dries fast, and doesn’t unhook accidentally. It’s also very comfortable on my skin. I feel
confident it won’t unhook on me even if I swim with it.

You wouldn’t want to workout or do rigorous activities on a metal bracelet. But for your use case, the combination you have works for you.

Your right, it feels ok but I don't like it, too small for me anyway, glad I bought the watch with the green alpine, much better fit and more secure, also alpine is a bit wider and easier to put on imo.
Is the trail same width as the ocean?

I don’t have the ocean anymore but I think all the ultra bands are of the same width?

I really like the look and feel of the Alpine loop and don’t find it hard to take on or off (simpele twist the closure instead of pushing or pulling). The green band matches well with the range action button and feels pretty much as comfortable as the old sport band I was using. I also like the alpine snapping into place on pulling the strap. I’ve ordered a dark trail loop as well, hope it will arrive before Christmas 😗.

So, the Alpine is ‘not for me’, but I decided to give the Ocean one a try. Because I wanted a bit lighter band, that also makes it easy to wear the Watch Ultra during sleep.

To be fair, the Ocean is more my taste. Love the soft material, quite easy to take it on and off. So I will have the Ocean and Spaceblack Link Bracelet to switch from time to time. :)

I have a Starlight Alpine and it's really smart looking and not quite as ostentatious as the orange one. I tend to wear that for daily use and have not really done anything strenuous in it because I'm conscious that it might get dirty. I'm sure it could cope just fine though. You quickly get used to the slightly fiddly nature of the hook connector.
I also acquired a Midnight Ocean band and that one is great too: super comfortable, smarter than you expect, better quality than you expect and obviously that bit more water proof. I use this for running and shower quite happily in it too.
