Apple Watch Ultra from US in UK

I have an Apple Watch Ultra and I use it without cellular. I am going on trip to the US soon and was thinking about buy an Apple Watch Ultra 3 to bring back to the UK and use without cellular. As I will be using it without Cellular this should not be an issue, is that correct?

except that US models do not support blood oxygen displayed on the watch, only on the phone, but if that is not a concern then should be fine

Plus of course you won't get the Consumer Law benefits of purchases within the UK. And, resale might be an issue down the road.

Also - you might think that as the dollar and pound prices are numerically the same making the US price appear cheaper - it isn't. UK and EU prices include the sales tax (VAT) - quoted US prices do not so you need to take into account the fact that the sales tax will be added at the till.

Sales taxes vary from state to state.

None of the states have sales tax even close to VAT. The UK VAT is 20%. NYC sales tax is 8.875%, LA is around 10%, most other places are lower. E.g. here in Michigan it's 6%.

So let's say the OP buys a base U3 in LA at MSRP: $799+10% =$878.90

In the UK: £749+20%=£898.80 = $1,191.91

The difference is $313.01. That's quite a bit of change.

In other states it's going to be even more.

My bad. Sorry. I haven't paid attention in Europe since I wasn't buying any major items. I am used to HST (similar to VAT) being added to the bill in Canada.
