Just buy it and then buy the band you want separately. Inventory is slim if you’re looking for everything to match precisely. The store had plenty of other Ultra bands in stock.

I’ve def thought about this, but spending an extra $100 and wasting a band isn’t ideal. Tempting though.
The bands that come with it are crap anyways. Use an older band.
heh, just depends on how badly you want it (or whether your store is allowing unopened band swaps). Some stores are letting folks trade just the band.
This thought did pop into my head. Seems like plenty of stock in the small bands today in Philly area...nothing in Medium & Large again.
It is silly that these bands alone cost $99, you're dropping big money and losing the band right away...but yeah, just swap it for an existing band.
Possible idea...perhaps. Just get the darn Watch since it's hard to find in stores..sells out fast -- and MAYBE in 13 days a version with the Medium or Large band will show up. Go to Apple and swap the whole thing. But you have to realize the larger bands may not appear in the next 2 weeks..it's a risk. You can always sell the Small band online for a discount, so it won't sit useless and collect dust.
No question 3rd party sellers with have their own versions of this Alpine or Ocean bands on Amazon, Ebay, etc. for a far cheaper price eventually (if it's not on these sites already.) Like the standard Silicon Watch bands..
Main reason why I returned the orange alpine I got on launch day and cancelled my VZW order too, I wait for the trail band 😂
Lots of small green alpine loops popping up in Denver today. Literally, that's the only watch/band combo available within 600 miles. Does me no good with my 195mm wrist.
My local Best Buy had ultras with white ocean bands today.
I bet you could sell the small green alpine loop and use your current collection of bands. Then eventually buy your dream band for only a very small loss (is it really a loss if you were able to use the watch longer).
i wish some of those were by me, i live in Co but only apple stores close to me are park meadows and cherry creek
Stopped by Apple today, ONLY small Alpine Green bands were available, figure to heck with it..let me try it on anyway. I have a 7.5in - 190.5mm wrist size, did not think this would work. After dealing with this utterly useless one Apple employee, I went to another one and he scheduled a "fitting session."
Anyway, this small sized band does fit my wrist! Just snug to get over my hand...but not by much. The small band worked for me. So..I bought it, too good right now to pass up.
NOW...if the store does get a Medium size band in 2 weeks, I can exchange it. But if not, it's not a huge deal at all. I have a brushed steel band on this now from my Series 4 and I personally love how that looks!

If you are in Switzerland, make sure the check toppreise.ch every morning. There are always some watches appearing as available each day on there with third party resellers. Personally I picked up a Green Alpine M AWU there two days ago (through Fust) and cancelled my order with Apple.
In just a few months these $99 alpine bands will look worn and dirty. You can try to clean them but they will never look like new.
"Worn and dirty".......or should we say "well used with a nice patina"
Some things look great with a “patina”, not so sure a fabric band will fair, worn and with a patina.
We will see How owners think about it.

Funny thing is I ordered from Apple right when even ended and my delivery date is a week later. I ordered from BB as a safety net. But I’m still hoping Target gets their stock in this week so I can get 5% with RedCard.
