The bezel is way too wide on Ultra. The display area on Ultra is 1164 sq mm vs 1143 sq mm on a regular Watch 8: not much larger.
Interesting. Another reason for me to wait until next year to buy the Ultra Series 2. Although since the Series 8 has the edges of the display bezel rounded over, I wonder if that comes out to be the same width or similar to the display bezel edges on the Series 8, just flattened out?

And is that display area difference purely the resolution increase? It may have a slightly lower pixel density, therefore larger. The displays looked huge on those wrists in the ad.

I definitely think a 50mm and 46mm version, if not 51mm and 47mm version should be in the works for next year. I’d love a 51mm version with hardly any bezel, blood glucose and/or blood pressure monitoring, and Satellite SOS running on an S9 chip using TSMC’s 3nm process which should be available by then offering better battery life and performance.

I’m still not sure if I like it or not…. Sometimes I look at it from certain angles and it looks hideous and other times I look at it and it looks beautiful…. Very bizzare I know…. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see it in person

I’m honestly surprised (in a good way) with the pricing. I mean $799 for Watch Ultra is pretty good deal, considering in the past Apple used to sell the Editions which didn’t have any meaningful extras beside the exterior materials?

Now we have a larger and brighter screen, extra button, extra speaker, and more rugged all Titanium body. That’s a great deal. I just wish it has Nike edition too because it could go well with those marathon athletes.

Bezel's are meant to be wide as its a rugged watch. Price is cheaper than some of the watches it's competing with (Garmin 7x titanium is over $1000 etc). I think this will sell pretty well. A lot of buyers will just get it because its a different style Apple Watch and not even use any of the features.

Just wish it was in all black or very dark grey. Not sure why they did that?

I am guessing they went with natural titanium to avoid chipping issues present in color variations of the material. Something people experienced when opting for Graphite or Black whatever it was called instead of natural on the S7 line.

I think the idea is function over form. Still the battery life isn't great.
