My local Apples store, in the US, said they wont have trail loops in store for a while and I was better off ordering online.

Oh wow, prior to checking out this thread, it never occurred to me that the Trail Loop versions were not available on launch day. When I opened the app at 7am last Friday to see if any Ultra’s were available for pick-up, I just assumed that all the Trail versions (my first choice) had sold first. And since bands are $99 it makes sense that people with more patience than me would be waiting for what they really want. That said, I’m very happy with my green Alpine band so it all worked out. I’ve been too busy loving my Ultra to have noticed that nobody was showing off pics of their Ultra Trail Loop versions. Duh. And now I’m realizing that MOST people want the Trail and there will be a flood of new Ultra owners very soon, hopefully!

It most likely comes with cheap gray plastic lugs, so I would definitely steer clear of any of these knock offs.
Well, i'd rather have a plastic lug than a lug of an unknown metal as two different metals in contact with each other can cause galvanic corrosion that could damage the titanium on the watch.

I have seen two videos now on YouTube of people unboxing their trail loop band and Apple Watch ultra. So I guess more and more people are getting them. One person was in Switzerland and the other was in Italy.

Getting desperate here in the USA for the Grey/Blue Trail Loop band. I like the Alpine Loop I have, but the Trail Loop seems like the supreme everyday band.

I'm torn between the grey/blue and the black. I've always liked black and the black/grey is a nice contrast to the silver of the watch. Plus, the orange tab matches the orange buttons of the watch. But the silver/blue is sharp and is more "in harmony" with the silver. I ordered both. The gray is late October, the black mid November.

I originally preordered and got the Ultra with the orange Alpine Loop on launch day as the ones with the Trail Loop in particular the black/grey one weren’t available until late October. I actually preordered as soon as they were available for preorder. In fact I originally preordered the one with the Trail Loop not realising the ones with the Alpine Loop and Ocean Band were available for launch day so I cancelled and preordered the one with the orange Alpine Loop instead.

I had been using it for a week but I’m not that keen on the Alpine Loop. I was in the Apple Store yesterday and they luckily happened to have the watch with the blue/grey Trail Loop in stock so I swapped mine for that. I have the black/grey Trail Loop on preorder for November delivery.

More importantly, two dissimilar metals would create an EMF that possibly could impact watch electronics.

Which Apple Store?

I ordered the trail loop blue/gray with my Ultra soon after the announcement, but got the alpine band package since it was shipping earlier (and I do really like that band). Originally had a delivery date for the trail loop of Nov 4, moved up to Nov 1, and just now I checked the Apple Store app and saw the trail loop has an Oct 26 delivery date for new orders! Hopefully that means those of us who’ve had orders in will be getting ours even sooner.

The more I see the Trail loop the more I am thinking how dirty they will get. I am pretty sure they will get grubby looking and start to show wear in only a month or so. I can’t wait to hear the complaints on the Alpine band in white. Just human oils are going to take it‘s toll on it looks. Washing is fine but it will never make it look like new.

...and that does not really matter as the watch is a tool, nothing more!

‘Not to some! Read the posts here about people finding a tiny black spot on the GPS antenna plastic or some who already have a scratch or nick. I agree the Ultra is a tool but some take it way farther when you are wondering if the Ultra will look good while wearing a suit and on and on.

First world problems……

The material used in these kind of nylon bands has a wicking effect so it doesn’t easily absorb sweat. Like a wicking t-shirt, it sits just below the surface. So if you rinse it off and blot after a workout it will stay clean looking. The watch is waterproof so no need to even take the band off. Obviously, if you don’t, yes the bacteria will start to collect and smell too. But that isn’t the fault of the band but the hygiene of the owner.

I‘ve owned a few Apple and knock-off sport loops w/ same nylon material, both just as daily drivers and running-only. They don’t get dirtier any more than any other band with basic care.
