Or leave them in a fancy watch box, like I do.
I pass them every day, and feel guilty for not wearing them. At one stage, I was making a point to wear a different one every day.

Hmm, might have to go back to that...

I think i can easily say that recieving notifications on my wrist one of the biggest point for me to have an AW. That’s why I don’t want to leave it. But as I said above classic watches are like memories and valuable so I don’t want them to get dusty and leave it in the closet.

Very true. Thus, i am not letting go of my Rolex Turn-o-Graph because i got that when i got married.

But how often do we buy for sentimental values? To be honest, i now spend on other things for sentimental value purchase...because the cost of ownership for something that i rarely wear is painful. I am sure that when my Rolex is used again, the servicing bills will be astronomical!

Found the link: http://watchguy.co.uk/if-you-thought-of-buying-a-patek-philippe/

Now, imagine your kid having been given a vintage Patek that you bought when you were young.....and then having to shell out nearly $7000 (USD) to restore it. It better be a BIG sentimental value to spend $7000! :D
I consider myself emotional more than normal people so that I want to make things more important than they are because of memories etc. But after think properly or read what you just said that also makes sense. How often do we buy things just for memories? Or how often do we use it to remember those memories? So we just buys things that does our need with a reasonable price.

I know I will keep it rest of my life because I already have it and for those memories. But do I buy a new one just to have one like “Rolex or Patek.” I don’t think so. Even though having a Rolex sounds amazing and probably looks a lot cooler but does it worth it’s price as you said. That’s the whole problem.

For now I only have one AW and one classic watch as I recieve. So I think I can easily go back and forth between them. Just need to convince myself to leave my AW in the house :D

I’ve been collecting/purchasing mechanical watches quite extensively for the last 8/9 months. The Apple Watch really has provoked me to want to explore and try other watch styles/brands. I really like what the Apple Watch has to offer, but I find myself gravitating towards my mechanical watches more than my Apple Watch as of late, which has become quite an expensive habit, but still an enjoyable one diversifying my lineup to wear a different watch everyday.

I’ve owned a Rolex Seadweller since around 2004. It’s been sitting on my bedside table for the past 12 months since I got my Apple Watch. And I’ve also got some kind of Omega Seamaster Co-axial I bought my dad a year or so later, which has passed back to me since he died a few years ago. I can’t see them moving from the bedside table anytime soon.

Although nice things, i can’t say I’d ever buy an expensive watch again. And if I could go back to the time of purchase I’d probably advise my former self against the it. Expensive watches are pretty pointless, but I’ve got one so hey....I think about selling the Rolex, but I’m not sure I could pull the trigger, the Omega I think I’ll keep whatever.

Don't forget the servicing costs of Rolex and Omega.

IMHO, sell your Omega Coaxial. Keep the Rolex...esp. a SeaDweller.
