Hi. We just got our daughter an Apple Watch so she can more easily get messages from us while in school and help to manage her diabetes a bit better through an app that pairs with her CGM. I should have researched things a bit better however, since her iPhone is a 5 on 8.1.3 that has VERY little storage left to update it. So, the phone and Watch are unable to pair. We are getting her an iPhone SE, but it won't be delivered until next Wednesday. Is there anything we can do with the Watch until the new phone arrives? I can't even set up anything on it right now.

You don't have a computer you can install iTunes on? If you do, you should be able to update your daughter's iPhone.

Delete stuff on the phone?....

Thanks for the replies. This is easier said than done. Her phone is 16gb, has less than 100mb available, and I think she would rather go without her pump than delete anything from her phone. I've thought about updating her phone to iOS 10 but it is an iPhone 5 and I've heard mixed things about updating it. It is important for the phone to be reliable, and I'm hesitant about updating it since being unreliable would be a lot more than just inconvenient for us.

I have three kids running Iphone 5 with IOS 10 and there has been zero issues at all. The one thing I did that saved me a ton of headaches was pay the .99 for 50 gigs of Icloud, then all the pictures back up to the cloud and we never have local iphone storage issues anymore.
