Can you cite where says a rest day is important? Genuinely interested, i try to close my rings every day and i'm under the impression that regular movement every day is good for you.
My wife and I have closed all our rings every day for the last 80 days but we do allocate two days (Weds and Sun) when we walk for 30 mins to give our bods a rest. We have the fitness setting at 30 mins but we always do at least an hour. We are both 74 years old and we work out in the room above our garage. We have weights and bands and a stationary bike and mats. We tackle snow angels, Mountain Climbers, dead bugs and Bird Dogs at the heavy end and various dumbbell and elastic band exercises as well as Cardio on the bike. Of course we do warm-up and cool down as well. Good to hear from everyone. We plan to keep going as long as we can. We don't take much notice of award badges but we like the Apple Watch monitor for the activities, not only for time monitoring but for heart rate to try and keep our heart rates at 140 BPS max (preferably 135 BPS), inkeeping with our age.

Thanks for all the good information.

Rest day does not mean be a slob for a day. Run 10km five days then walk 5km two days that’s my two rest days as far as steps goes then put into that four days strength training, 3 days core, 7 days yoga and then walking the three dogs. What exactly is meant by rest day?
