I hate, and I mean hate my cpap. Were you diagnosed with moderate or severe sleep apnea? If not it’s probably why you didn’t get the sleep disturbances. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, and am struggling with using my CPAP machine, and on the days I haven’t used my machine (which has been days at a time) I haven’t received any elevated breathing disturbances). My numbers are lower on the nights I do use my CPAP machine.
I know. This is the one Costco is selling online.S9 model MR9C3LL/A supports oxygen sensor
I hate mine as well. Especially that the only mask that works for me, is a full face mask. I hate having to travel with an extra bag.I hate, and I mean hate my cpap.
The crazier thing is that the Apple Watch Ultra doesn’t support it either, unless you have Ultra 2. This ultra was released only ~2 years ago and retailed for $800…I just did some digging and it seems that the Apple Watch uses the accelerometer for detection of sleepapnea. This accelerometer from applewatch 10 is the same as found on earlier models till 6.
So Apple is making it possible from Apple Watch 9 models to detect sleep apnea. It botters me that they use it as a selling point for newer watches while it’s technically possible to make it work from Apple Watch 6 and up. Seems Apple is more interested in gardening money than preventing sleep apnea.
It normally takes people years to find out they have sleep apnea. If you're in a particular hurry maybe go see a doctor.it takes 30 days to tell you that you might have a sleep apnea problem…Lol. Damn I miss Steve Jobs.
It took me a year to find out I had sleep apnea because I never paid attention to the signs. I had a traumatic accident with some symptoms that prompted my pcp to have a sleep study done and I was diagnosed then. I would’ve never asked for a sleep study if not for that accident. It normally takes people years to find out they have sleep apnea. If you're in a particular hurry maybe go see a doctor.
Have you checked into inspire? I got denied by the sleep doctor for smoking medical weed.I hate mine as well. Especially that the only mask that works for me, is a full face mask. I hate having to travel with an extra bag.
And why is it extortion? So I guess you believe in extortion (by Masimo)
Apnoea, interesting .... lolI’ve suspected for years that I may have sleep apnoea, but my watch s10 finally gave me the kick I needed to go see a doctor about it. Got given a diagnostic kit to sleep with overnight and although I haven’t got the results yet, I did get an email today saying that I should call them for the results and until then I’m prohibited from driving a car 😂 so clearly there’s something there. (Not actually a problem in my case, no car, no license).

Yeah, we brits just love our silent letters 🙂Apnoea, interesting .... lol
I looked into it, but don’t want anything implanted under my skin, so I’ll deal with the CPAP machine. I am going to ask for another sleep study and see if I still have sleep apnea, since I lost 47lbs in a year. I’m hoping that has helped.Have you checked into inspire? I got denied by the sleep doctor for smoking medical weed.
Incorrect. Right on the Apple website it is stated that S6/7 and S9/10 have different accelerometers (and gyroscopes if it matters)I just did some digging and it seems that the Apple Watch uses the accelerometer for detection of sleepapnea. This accelerometer from applewatch 10 is the same as found on earlier models till 6.

That’s not really true, many people snore with no stops in their breathing. When a person is snoring & their breathing stops for a little while & is followed by a bigger snore or a gasp for air… that is classic sleep apnea. I was once told that sleep apnea affects roughly 40% of men over 40.Anybody that snores has Apnea to some degree.
Still waiting for the Oxygen sensor to be re-enabled. Im not buy another watch till they do.
Or you can buy a Wellue O2 ring that continuously monitors yours blood oxygen at night. I use it alongside my CPAP machine and Apple Watch. You’ll have to wait then, since that patent holder wants $130 tacked on per watch for license when you can get a finger O2 meter at Walmart for anywhere from $2-$15.
Where did you find these numbers? You’ll have to wait then, since that patent holder wants $130 tacked on per watch for license when you can get a finger O2 meter at Walmart for anywhere from $2-$15.
I don’t blame you. I just sprung for two AW Series 10.Still waiting for the Oxygen sensor to be re-enabled. Im not buy another watch till they do.
Why is "Sleep tracking is next to pointless" ? Seems to me that data on sleeping patterns should be useful; especially if it is effortlessly available, such as by simply wearing a watch. Healthy patterns versus unhealthy patterns should give some guidance on what to look at next - or not.Sleep tracking is next to pointless, but this is good.
What is crazy about that? New things get released over time. I have a v1 Ultra that is great. I would like it to be a v2, but it is not. Maybe I will buy an Ultra v3 when they are released if all the new things that get released over time make it worth upgrading [to me].The crazier thing is that the Apple Watch Ultra doesn’t support it either, unless you have Ultra 2.
