Germany
I live in Germany and it’s not easy to find a good weather app when you live between the alps. Apple Weather was always ok, but since iOS 16 it’s so useless like the Carrot app.

We had rain the whole day, Apple showed rain after 4pm. I’ve made the same experience a week ago too. Heavy rain for hours but no rain in the app. Forecast showed no rain either.

Current weather and forecast shows too warm and too cold temperatures. Everything is wrong.

I can’t believe that Apple says that they are using „DWD - Deutscher Wetterdienst“ as the source. The DWD app shows much different data to me.

Seems like Apple Weather is the new fail like the auto correct of the keyboard. What do you think? Where are you from and how’s the weather app working for you?

Croatia, and my experience is similar. The forecast is inaccurate, and just a couple of days ago the weather app was showing 0% chance of rain while the sky was going dark, wind started blowing, then it rained, all the while the app had no mention of it and the weather forecast remained the same throughout. I have had the weather on my iPhone for a long time and now I'm considering removing the widget as it's useless.

Do the same as me and report it in the app.

Same for Switzerland.

I reported it during Beta period; and in the Feedback app it said «10 or more similar reportings»

Same.
Even though I find Carrot much closer, it’s still off.
But the stock weather app is way off with temperature and rain.
How hard it is to let us choose our source? The same way we choose search engine in safari or something.

I switched to the weather channel’s app since that was the previous and very accurate for my location source. On the early betas it said ‘Mostly sunny’ during the most severe hailstorm I’ve ever witnessed so I figured something’s changed 😂 and it still hasn’t been fixed. It was always spot on and reacted to conditions immediately. Temperature and forecast in general is way wrong. Hope they fix it because I like using native apps whenever I can + I loved the widget.

I’m sure you all are aware of this, but Carrot lets you choose different sources.

Yes, but we are talking about the apple weather app.
Carrot asks 45€ a year to let you choose a source and in general, to me at least, the UI is not as great as the stock weather app, the Apple Watch widget does not update automatically as good as the stock app and the integration with maps etc is not there.

I noticed the temperature was off by white a bit in iOS 16 compared to 15. I reported it s couple of times and it's been spot on since.

Precipitation has so far been pretty good but iOS 15 was still a bit better.

The added bonus is that since carrot added Apple Weather as a source I can use it again. When they removed the only accurate source a couple of years back it was useless because it either showed the wrong temperature or a wildly inaccurate forecast.

There is room for improvement but here in my part of Sweden it is actually decent now.

I agree with that. In Istanbul, it was raining but the Weather app was showing that it was partly cloudy.

I am using iPhone 12 mini and I also have an iPhone 6s as a secondary device, so I have chance to compare the weather data in the Weather app and the data in iOS 16 and iOS 15 are different. The one in iOS 15 seems very accurate while the one in iOS 16 doesn’t.

I hope, Apple doesn’t ignore the people who report this and does something about it very soon.

I have reported this within the Weather and the Feedback app. The most beautiful weather app is also the worst one. Sad.

It’s also funny that Carrot wants a membership for that source. 😂

I hear you, but there was discussion above about Carrot being “off”… and my point was that at least you can try different sources for accuracy.

45 Euro is a lot!

Same here. I thought I was alone on this. Forecasts and live weather are completely off. My wife has her XS on iOS 15 and the temperatures and conditions are now completely different. Reported it, but without hope.

I just noticed this today.

I asked my Google Home what the temp was, and it said 70 degrees. I looked at the Apple Weather app and it said 74. So I double checked it with the weather channel app and my local news station app and they both confirmed what Google said. It was 70 degrees.

I wish Apple would go back to the weather channel for the weather app. When you want accurate results, you use the professionals.

If you wanna launch a rocket, NASA calls SpaceX, not Bob’s rockets and auto repair shop down the street.

The Weather Channel now has a lock screen widget. 🥳

I have got an answer from DWD that they have had no idea that Apple was using their data. Because the data is wrong and not the same Apple might change them. It’s weird. I have no idea how and who can fix this.

It gets only 1 star ratings in the App Store in Germany. I’ve reported it in many ways but it seems like they don’t care. As if they want us to subscribe other apps

Today temperatures have been way off again. It's currently 3°C outside and most weather apps are reporting around 3, but Apple weather says 6°C.

We’ve had rain for 3 hours at the weekend and the app always showed sunny weather. Sometimes a difference of 5 degrees.

I’ve read the ratings in the App Store. It’s not only a problem in Germany. It’s worldwide. You can report the wrong conditions for your location and sent feedback as many times as you want. They don’t care and you don’t get any answer.

I would say: Apple Weather is a big fail in iOS 16. Not made by experts.

Apple weather is definitely bad iOS 16.. I’m in Australia, Sydney and it’s shocking wrong weather. I never get notifications from Apple weather even that they are ON and always on location.
