Ironically, I was able to place two orders on the same phone line. Unfortunately, Apple is canceling such orders and gave me a heads up. If you have a similar circumstance, I recommend you cancel the order with the later delivery date.

EDIT: I am referring to the AT&T phone line and NOT the billing phone number. So one active line for two iPhone Xs.

EDIT 2: I did not plan to sell the extra devices above list price, but rather, give them to family and friends who got stuck with December dates.

I got the same email due to confirmation issues with AT&T. I have one that is paid thru AT&T Next and the other that was my reservation confirmation that only gave me the option to pay in full (AT&T Next should be an option). The pay in full has the later delivery date, but worried that the order I placed using AT&T Next will be cancelled as well?

Oh lord. Are you referring to the phone number in the billing info? I'm scared as I ordered multiple for family members and my order status is still Order in Process.

I wonder if this applies to T-Mobile option I got...

I am unsure whether Apple or AT&T can change the plan. From what it looks like it is only one iPhone X for on active phone number on an account. It would be best to reach out to Apple. I am going to call when I get a chance.
 
I ordered through Verizon. My first order gave me an error due to high traffic, and said to try again. I tried again and got the same error, however a few minutes later I got order emails for both. I was worried they would be canceled (I only need one) but they both just shipped.

I had a similar experience. However, I have a delivery date of Nov. 3 and Nov. 17 - Nov. 24. I think Apple has the ability to intercept shipments.
 
You made me panic so I just checked. I had one for 12/5 before I confirmed the one for 11/3 the next morning. They have already cancelled the 12/5. They must have done it in the past half hour or so because now it no longer shows in the app or online. Whew!
