Apple wireless keyboard

I have an imac which came with this keyboard and i still don't figure out how to delete a file or folder using it. So you cannot delete unless you have a mouse or trackpad or different keyboard?

Hold Command-backspace at the same time.

Command-Shift-backspace will empty the trash.
