companies who have a connection to Trump get exemptions but those who don't won't? That's how you destroy your business environment and lead to crony capitalism that is so often prevalent in 2nd/3rd world countries.
wow, it’s almost like people have been warning Americans about the possibility of this for 10 years now. But “owning the libs” was more important.
just saying, Tim Cook didn’t give $1 million to the inauguration earlier this year for nothing, it was very deliberate and intentional.

Here’s hoping they’ll keep the 17 Pro at $999 but increase its storage to 256 GB, and will reduce the 17 Pro Max which is already at 256 GB to $1099. Call me an optimist…
it’s very likely they will do the opposite, start the new 17 air at $999, bump the Pro to $1199 at 256 GB, which would technically be a $100 increase over today.
The Pro Max would also be bumped to $1299, not only because of tariffs, but also because Samsung recently bumped the galaxy ultra up to $1299, and if Samsung can do it, Apple can absolutely do it and more.

That's what they said for the iPhone Pro Max a few years, ago, and then it increased. Plus, even the base iPad has 128 GB storage now.
when the storage increased with the 15 pro Max, the starting price also increased as well, going from $1099 to $1199.
I appreciate the optimism, but Apple has already mentioned in their earnings calls two quarters in a row now that the tariffs have cost them around $1 million. they aren’t going to start lowering prices in response to that, that’s not how business works.
The only thing that seems pretty certain is that the regular 17 is unlikely to change in price. but that’s also because it’s not changing, at all. it’s the one iPhone not getting a new design this year, and depending on what rumor you listen to, it might not even get a new chip.

IMO there is no chance in Hades that a base 17 Pro 256 will be US$1199.

The worst case scenario is that it will be $1099.

Never have run a business have you? Government, at all levels, gives certain deals to some businesses over others. Bids written to make sure their friends or contacts are the best one to bid on project. Requirements that narrow technology to one company. All sorts of garbage everyone in government does to protect their friends and screw you over if you aren't.
I have.

If I want to start a business selling imported phones, I pay the full tariffs while Apple and a few others don't. That's f'ed. It was not like this a few months ago. Don't tell me it was always like this.
