As some might remember, I made a statement that the new FCP, would look, then for 1.5 to 2 years they came out with updates, looking like the olè FCP until 2+ years then there it was what a friend told me he saw.

Regarding FPU (Floating Point), regardless of cores, the higher the CPU=HIGHER the FPU= MORE PLUG INS, MORE REALTIME FX FOR FCP, which it does, and yes, 64 bit, using all the cores is great but at 2.8 vs 12 (or better yet a 22 core/44 virtual), running at 4.5GHZ is going to almost double the effects, unless you have PT cards and/or Apogee, Apollo (plus-ins are awesome-still waiting for them to combine all the power from any UAD Chip containing a CPU/FPU, so it is seen as one, then have the ability to combine them all and control the units with the knob, thinking also about the SSL Nucleus too.

Anyway, I called Apple, told them I worked for Apple (as in Past), and told her I was also an BSEE and worked in Wafer Fab Technologies, (while I am into Film/TV/Music/Photography/Editing), I took it as the guitarist from the group (pre me), (lead guitarist Tom Shultz got his Doctorate in BSEE at M.I.T., then came out with the rock man, all pre-pod, or guitar for protools (can't recall the name, way before V.I. where big or good enough) and for me I saw that streaming was the future, that ADATS (still young but remember them), didn't stand a chance, proven even more when AVID bought M-Audio hoping collect on the semi to consumer knowing it would not be enough I knew and said at gear slutz, they would release the GUI for PT for any device. "YEAH RIGHT", but anyway, the woman asked me (as I called for iTunes or something whacky), right b4 I hung up, "OH BY THE WAY, HOW ARE O-U-R (APPLE),
:eek:32+ more=64 with Virtual:confused: and...AND, there is more, some have been asking a long time.
We shall see.? core chips coming along!" I hung up in case someone was listening, I was like, fine fine, ok, thank you! Click.

The Mac Pro should be revised now, put it back in the GREY and SILVER container, then you can increase power, its the best design ever. Then offer an update so all you have to do is replace the chip or a mini board with CPU and anything else new to the new chip coming soon, but not soon enough for an update.

WE NEED SOMETHING NOW!!!

but that wasn't big enough, I knew it was only a matter of time (everyone told me I was nuts, just like when I said Apple will use Intel when one to one paid, $35 an hour, they had split profit sharing and/or combined commissions, that were distributed equal. If a woman was there, she worked in Feature Film, T.V., Architecture, Graphic Design, similar, or picking up something for hubby or b/f.

Then came the iPhone, thank goodness, I stayed was the only Logic hire, and the others were all post iPhone, so they taught email, setting up websites, (WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING), then, (some have left, and can't blame them, 22, 24 cores and windows 10 is the only OS now, no more 20 OS'es =trouble shooting increased try-fold, whereas now, its one, some hardware and they might be doing well. Anyone see the new PC commercial, it shows the MAC saying it stole something, then the PC says you mean like you stole the (insert company/Xerox)?, funny.

Noob? I have to look and see what my user name(s) is/are? Not a noob, ever since I built a HACK n TOSH, yes, a 22 core, overclocked is going to buzz past any mac pro, but certain OTHER THINGS, non AUDIO, even if you have the same hardware, is not exact thus, it can benchmark slower in some areas, yet on the flip side, if your getting the performance out of the machine with AUDIO, there has to be a way to either use Fusion and run windows, then overclock a mac, OR, it it flys for AUDIO, just use it for that, keep it off line, FCP works good too, anything that uses FPU/GPU, its the Hard Drives (not that big of a difference if both ate SS drives, get it. A lot depends on what happens tomorrow. There are a lot of people who when the INTEL came out, one guy I know, FULL TIME FOLEY DUDE, makes HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS PER YEAR, was using a M-Box 1 for years. We are approaching the point where tomorrow, I bet the stock goes down if there is no Mac Pro - I mean anyone with a .MAC address, are the people who stood by MAC when it was slower for years, how about rewarding us, give us a TRUE build and overclock at the factory, sign a piece of paper saying you know the life of the CPU could be 3-5 years, normal if overclocked, normally, 5 years. Update tomorrow, update/upgrade path in 4-6 months, leave the choice to us, make more money!

I think I am having vision problem by trying read to this. Sorry, but I couldn't finish reading your message.. So briefly.. What is your point?

As some might remember, I made a statement that the new FCP, would look, then for 1.5 to 2 years they came out with updates, looking like the olè FCP until 2+ years then there it was what a friend told me he saw.
WAS TOLD 2 years b4 FCP that looked like iMovie on Steroids was coming, plus if you look around for users like ComposerX or something in the entertainment, you will find posts of me saying before it came out and how long before it would arrive - create credibility.

FPU=Floating Point Processor=the faster the speed, the more plug-ins like REVERB, FAT BOY JR, Tape Simulation, Guitar sims, Virtual Orchestra (plus-ins can be FX or Virtual Instruments).
Yes, Yes, yes, multi core is great but does not change that faster CPU=FASTER GPU/FPU, MORE Virtual Instruments, More Reverbs, Compression, Faster Rendering, and its the MPro design (can't keep cool, go about the wattage due to size), so you cannot get faster unless the bring back the old design (better) or the 32 (64 Virtual, plus 64 cores after), may happen, when it does, Intel will be so close to the PC, Apples going to need to FIX bridges fast, in case it flops. But faster speed = FASTER all the way around, period.

Anyway, I called Apple, told them I worked for Apple (as in Past), and told her I was also an BSEE and worked in Wafer Fab Technologies, (while I am into Film/TV/Music/Photography/Editing), I did this as the guitarist from the group (pre me), before my time (lead guitarist Tom Shultz got his Doctorate in ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING at M.I.T., then came out with the rock man, all pre-pod, or guitar for protools (can't recall the name, way before V.I. where big or good enough) and for me I saw that streaming was the future, that ADATS (still young but remember them), didn't stand a chance, proven even more when AVID bought M-Audio hoping collect on the semi to consumer knowing it would not be enough I knew and said at gear slutz, they would release the GUI for PT for any device. WHEN YOUNGER I READ ABOUT THE LEAD GUITARIST FROM THE BAND BOSTON, HE GOT HIS DEGREE, phD., from MIT, he started the entire re-amping guitars via a ROCK MAN, which led to the POD. I knew that everything would be Hard Drive based, not many agreed. When 12, I remember playing some drums loops on a CD or something, everyone laughed, FF 20 years, Sample Drums everywhere, people use V.I. Orchestrations now, not many shows can afford entire orchestra's - you need speed with HD's, CPU and RAM, lots of RAM for great sampling. GIGASTUDIO was (still is), the warmest sounding sampler. It had a very analog sound, the security made it sound like everything else, thus why I was not a bick fan of anything non giga, so a set floats around Hollywood, (sample library of Entire Orchestra), you cannot buy, you cannot get giga, it has to be given to you. I say I have good ears as I bought 150 watt Groove Tube Head, 4x4 Cab, using 6L6 American 1950's Coke Bottles, rattled at times (only down side), but could go to TONEMASTER and MARSHALL just with knob, with the bias tool, (of course I got), you could change to EL34's, or change to EL84's as well as change pre sections

Doesn't Apple know anything about business? They killed some great programs.
iWeb had huge potential, they could have licensed to a on-line comma site that would keep developing it so you could throw a bunch of graphics in background, sides, misc., and with superior editing a a "RANDOMIZER" button, everyone would have a unique site, plus Aperture? Really? Shake? Color? And now the people that kept them afloat until all the barking dogs, strollers, rug rats and family outings where with every apple employee reading a memorized script (for the most part- ask one what is binary, how does it convert to ? (what number system, and programming language, does it take so when I press the letter,
A (capital), it happens? You see there was a time, Apple employees knew about binary, shake logic, FPU, GPU, CPU, as they had to deal with INTEL & AMD putting up the speed doesn't matter, which to a time did not, then it just got to fast, AMD made it first to 1.0 Ghz, then Apple made it then before the duo, Intel needed an extra 1.0 Ghz, just to keep up with AMD, so if AMD was 1.5, Intel needed 2.5, Apple was right behind AMD (or PPC and saw the AMD/Apple relationship coming), would not be surprised if they are working with AMD to make this Ax chip!?

but that wasn't big enough, I knew it was only a matter of time (everyone told me I was nuts, just like when I said Apple will use Intel when one to one paid, $35 an hour, they had split profit sharing and/or combined commissions, that were distributed equal. If a woman was there, she worked in Feature Film, T.V., Architecture, Graphic Design, similar, or picking up something for hubby or b/f.
Now the pay is pretty low, minimum wage for sales, no more commission (ugg), Apple has fallen so far, lets see what tomorrow brings.
Then came the iPhone, thank goodness, I was the only Logic hire, and the others were all post iPhone, so they taught email, setting up websites, (WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING).
Not only was Apple trying to distance themselves for the word MAC and COMPUTER, the iCloud, mobile me, all sounded like windows, plus, there are many sites where Safari does not pick up on a bad site and you get all the FAKE VIRUS WARNINGS now. Well we knew it was only a matter of time.

Users are leaving and for some, if not Apple software dependent, can't blame them, 22, 24 cores and windows 10 is the only OS now, no more Win 98, Windows Mobile Me, Millennium, 2000, just 10 meaning less trouble shooting and if they tried some deep hardcore V.R. (Apple still NO BLUE RAY), they might do well. Anyone see the new PC commercial, it shows the MAC saying it stole something, then the PC says you mean like you stole the (insert company/Xerox)?, funny.
I do wonder if some will leave tomorrow or upgrade like iMacs, 2011, you can upgrade CPU to a very fast i7, even the RAM gets faster. Build a HACK? I just can't believe they are so stubborn to admit defeat with the trashcan design and admit due to the power, heat, they can't go beyond a certain amount of cores and speed. Therefore they should change back or offer both, one as a Prosumer and keep the plastic can for the PROsumers? Also, while its not the only thing, adding RAM and a SSD will show a dramatic increase.

BLUE ARE LINKS BELOW. Cheers - just trying to find out, whats going on, look at Neleham, 2010, they sell for $1300 on
eBay, benchmarks are close to the 12 core, but the neleham sells on most Apple sites for $5K, 2009/2010.

Audio and video applications also demand processor power--as our MP3 and video-export tests demonstrated.

MACWORLD
But despite all of those extra cores, the 12-core Mac Pro posted slower times than the quad-core system in our iTunes encode, Aperture test, and file compression tests.

While some professional applications can benefit greatly from multiple processors, most applications made for general consumers aren’t designed to take advantage of more than four cores. For the majority of applications, fewer but faster processors are preferred.

MACWORLD
High-end audio work can be extremely processor intensive, especially when using professional plug-ins and effects. If your demands are great, you’re going to need a Mac with fairly serious processing power. Ergo, whichever Mac you decide to buy, avoid low-end models that seem to lurk in the line-up to enable Apple to say ‘from’ and use a lower price-tag in marketing material.

There’s also the question of the GPU. Historically, recording and editing audio didn’t utilise many graphics card resources, unlike 3D design and video editing. Things are more complicated these days — some audio software is GPU-accelerated. In the main, though, added GPU clout is more of a factor should you require additional displays.

Just to sum things up: I don't know where apple stands with mac pro anymore. Would you go with windows if mac doesn't provide your needs? Would you go with hackintosh? audio do need serious processing power...but we have to look at where apple had been heading to: FCP x.

BTW: thanks for highlighting.
