That's kind of my point, looking forward to a more powerful Mac, such as with a Max chip. I don't want an M1 w/8GB, when my PC is i9 with 128GB. However, I will compromise down to a M1 Max w/64GB.

If I might ask, what exactly are you doing that requires 128GiB of DRAM?

I'm a somewhat aggressive user of Mathematica, for example, and at any given time I have hundreds of Safari tabs open, and yet I have never felt my iMac Pro's 32GiB is too small. (I do find the 8GiB of VRAM too small, mainly because of all those open Safari tabs! -- having a unified RAM pool for GPU and CPU will be a nice improvement when I move to an ARM-based iMac Pro.)
