Recently there was a posting over at macintouch.com where someone said that if you can get ahold of the _Windows_ version of AppleWorks 6 (it can be found if you know where to look for such things), it will run on Lion via "Crossover". You also need to install the Windows version of Quicktime as well (I _think_ that's included as a part of AppleWorks for Windows).

I've tinkered with it, but haven't gotten it to run yet.

Not sure whether this would make it any easier to keep using AWorks under Lion than would Sheepshaver. But for those familiar with Crossover, might be worth the try...

After partitioning I was able to see my original data base, convert it in Excel and see it as an Excel spreadsheet.
Now my problem is getting all the data including notes into something compatible with Lion.
Been playing with Bento and Open Office data base, but neither wants to bring in all the information from the original.
Both seem very "clunky", but I'm still playing, but also running out of patients.

Anyone got any suggestions about any other data bases please pass it on.

You might try "iData":
http://www.idata3.com/

It's VERY simple and unsophisticated, and may "not be enough" for your needs. But then again, it might. Be aware that you can paste things like pics and sound files into the "freeform" data area, and view pics and play music from there, as well. I think it can do labels, as well.

It hasn't been updated in a while, but it DOES work with Lion, no problems that I can see from my experimentation.
