Keep in mind that if Apple did a 12" notebook today it would have a 16:10 or 16:9 screen, making it pretty similar to the 13" model.

Really if you cut the 13" model down closer to the size of the screen it would be pretty close to the old 12" model, it has a lot of extra bezel space around the screen and keyboard right now. The 12" PB's keyboard went right to the edges.

And...they...were....AWESOME!:D Unless, of course, you had to replace a hard drive; then they sucked big fur off of small rodents.

Also, I had the oppertunity to check out the nw MB on display at my local Worst Buy today. As iFixit said, it feels "chubbier", albeit more sturdy. I have to say, the new trackpad is a killer feature, and if it had a backlit keyboard I would gladly buy one as a travel laptop (provided I didn't have the money for sexy, sexy Aluminium, of course) :D

I thought the same thing

You have a better chance for world peace

That is the best comment I have heard today.
I would accept if Apple used the same casing for a MBP 12" as they did a PB G4.
Only, make it a LED screen, add keyboard backlighting, and make the HDD more accessible, with maybe a T9900 processor for an option, with the dual Graphics (9400M/9600M w/512MB), and 8GB ram, and a replaceable battery....
I would buy it in a heartbeat :)

Don't forget the multi-touch trackpad and Bluray! :D

The 12" *Books of the day is a great size. Has the same footprint as a normal sheet of paper and just as easy to carry around. Would be great concept!

Some mentioned about the black MBPs, ever heard of the "Stealth" MBP? google it ;). Check my sig for my dyed black iBooks cases:D
