Let's stop and think about AppleCare +. 100$ to get it, plus 50$ if you need replacement. Now it's really 150$. You can replace your phone for 200$ at the Apple Store as it is. So if you damage your phone once you only save 50$. I have had 3 iPhones now and they are all in excellent condition. So I have saved 300$ so far in AppleCare not purchased. If you update every year you are really wasting money since it's under warranty anyhow.

In my opinion it's a waste of money.

AppleCare+ covers accidental damage, and it covers two phone replacements. It will probably help with resale value too, though I agree that it's not for people who sell their phones every year.
