Applecare+ and the new 6s

Also, if I buy AppleCare plus at tomorrow 60th day shouldn't I pay less than $129 since two months have lapsed? Seems like it would be prorated.

So warranty depends on the person. If reckless like my wife. Than get warranty.

I don't even know if a life proof water proof is effective. Cause they cost $80 themsleves and u lose a lot of the screen sensitivity.

I've been using the nuud lifeproof case for 3 years with my iPhone 5 - it worked very well indeed. It's made in such a way as to not cover the screen, so everything looks just as good and touch works just as well as with a naked phone.

The case itself is pretty bulky and obviously makes the phone look less nice, but depending on your lifestyle, it can be a worthy sacrifice. I take my phone hiking, snowboarding, dirt biking, and long distance traveling - I would rather have a working phone that can take a beating than a pretty phone that does not work and can only be fixed in a few days when I get to the nearest Apple Store.

I'm quite pissed that lifeproof still did not make a nuud version of their case for iPhone 6s, I'm missing it a lot and really hope they release it in time for summer when I start going back to the occasionally wet, muddy, dusty and overall complicated environments.

Like many people, I think cases for the most part are ugly compared to the naked phone, but for better or worse, I frequently expose my phone to things that are quite hostile to sensitive electronics. Insurance is not as good of an alternative when I rely on my phone for navigation and communication far from home, and often far from cities where phones can be fixed. The lifeproof stuff does work!

i went with square trade. it is $129 for 3 years. and i believe i have $999 of covered repairs.
but i might also have 4 accidental claims

the cost of a screen replacement for iPhones are 109, 129 or 149, with 149 being the cost for a 6s+

if you have a screen only claim with square trade, the deductible is $0

i dropped my 6s+
i opened a claim
i went to the apple store and made an appointment for the repair
it was $149 plus tax

i submitted my receipt to square trade and within 24 hours the entire $149 plus tax was sent to my paypal

if you damage anything more then a screen, then they charge you that $75/$79 deductible.

with iPads, every screen repair is a swap out, so the deductible would apply, if your going to get apple care or square trade anything, make sure you get it on your ipad


in order to qualify for square trades $0 deductible on screen repairs you must have it repaired at the genius bar


the downside of square trade is that you don't get free apple care phone support.

I resell them or give them away before the standard warranty expires. So the little time I own the phone is worth the risk.

I do get AppleCare+ with Macs though since I hold onto them longer.

Most people (savvy) could care less. About apple care phone support.

So u just file a claim with square trade with broken screen and they are lenient to let u go to apple and get screen replaced for $109-149? These days Genius reservation at least in my 3 orlando area stores have anywhere from a 3-7 day wait for genius reservation.

I attached a pic how long it takes to wait for appt.

Wouldn't it be cheaper for Square trade to force you to ship phone to them and they can repair it themsleves ($50 cost of repair) cost of shipping both ways with a big corporate account discount is probably less than $25-30 max. I have shipped iPhones 6S in a FedEx box 3day flat rate for $10 consumer account.

Square can easily cut costs taking repairs in house.

square trade accidental damage begins the day the plan is approved

all iPhones must be purchased the last 30 days

square trade allows iPhones older then 30 days as long as you have an insurance company with a cellular company

all warranty claims have to go through apple during the initial warranty period

square trades warranty starts when the apple warranty ends

costco is a little different, on a 3 year warranty, costco covers the first 2 years, and square trade covers the last year

with square trade you are free to have your screen repaired at any vendor of your choice, they really don't care. just send them the bill.

but if you want them to waive the deductible on that $109 screen repair, you HAVE TO get it fixed at the genius bar.
