As noted by MobileSyrup, monthly and annual AppleCare+ subscriptions are now available for a wider range of products in Canada, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods, HomePod, Studio Display, and Vision Pro.

For example, AppleCare+ coverage for a Mac starts at $5.49 per month or $54.99 per year, with prices varying by model. For lower-priced devices like the Apple TV and HomePod, coverage is available for as little as $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year.

In some cases, you may pay more over the same period than you would with upfront AppleCare+ plans, which remain available.

AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans are still not available in Canada, and the AppleCare One bundle option has yet to expand to the country either.

Now Tim and friends, roll out the leasing program to truly show you still love Canada despite the ridiculous price hikes (mainly due to our pathetic dollar).

What's with the over time disclaimer? are you warning me that 5 years of monthly Apple Care cost more then 2 years prepay?

Good to know about this. Always nice to have various options. Definitely not surprising that monthly plans work out to be costlier than outright multi year payment.

Apple care isn’t worth anyways, like if your device really has a problem just upgrade to a new one… And I don’t think you will have any problems in the first 5 years ! Some upgrade every two years… Don’t forget the one year warranty !
I’m sorry, what? Not everyone has the money to just go out and buy a new e.g. iPhone or MacBook Pro if an issue with their existing one crops up. That is the point of AppleCare, to get a device fixed if anything happens to it, and sometimes if they don’t have parts available they will eat the cost of an outright replacement to a newer model for the customer, esp. in the case of MacBooks, and AC+ also has cheaper repair fees as you don’t have to pay the out of warranty service fees. And by the way, the limited warranty offered by Apple doesn’t cover much.

So despite what you may believe, AppleCare is worth it.

What if I drop my $2000 MacBook? Should I just upgrade? I’d rather pay Apple care.

That's not an option for a lot of people. Apple stuff is considered a luxury item for a huge swathe of the global population.

I checked a few systems on the Canadian Apple Store, and not seeing the 3 year option any more, only the monthly and yearly.
Also checked our Apple Business Manager, not seeing a way to manage AppleCare subscriptions which will be an issue if the 3 year packages are gone.

There’s an error. Upfront AppleCare in Canada is no longer available. The annual subscription is at the exact same price as the upfront. The only way AppleCare is more expensive is if you get it monthly, which was always the case in the past.
