Applecare Cosmetic Damage?

I have an M1 Max, 64GB, 2TB Macbook Pro - an amazing machine that lets me edit 8k videos on Final Cut Pro. Love it.

My AppleCare has around 6 months left but it is getting a bit scratched up and looking the worse for wear. Does Applecare provide cover for cosmetic damage without it being faulty?

IF for example I dropped the laptop and dented the base would they replace the case?

Or if I dropped it and it broke - would they just repair the computer part and leave the case all messed up?

It isn't clear to me. Anyone know?

4. What is not Covered?

4.1 Hardware Services and ADH Services

Apple will not provide Hardware Services or ADH Services in the following circumstances:

(a) to protect against normal wear and tear, or to repair cosmetic damage not affecting the functionality of the Covered Equipment;

Yes, unless that repairing (part) of the case was necessary to fix the functional failure. For example, if you dropped it and the logic board failed as a consequence, then the case would not be replaced if it was just scratched up from the drop. But if there was a huge dent to the case that stopped the new logic board fitting, it would be replaced.
