is it possible to get applecare or something simular for an imac g5??
AppleCare has to be purchased during the the product's first year.
sorry, no the g5 iMac is far to old for anything like apple care , nobody would give warranty or similar things on a iMac G5 as the iMac G5 was even a disaster for apple if you calculate how many repairs thay had to do under warranty and apple care , so even as there might be insurance companies who might insure a "no name" computer against defects and such, at horrendous rates if its 5 years old , but even these will not take a iMac G5 as the risk is far to high
having said that, here is a company which does logicboard repairs (recapping, then extensively testing ) on the iMac g5 , and they give 1 year warranty on their repair (means, if the capacitors fail within that year you get a free repair ) but thats about as far as warranties might go on a g5 iMac
