That’s a really good point about the battery. Another reason to get AppleCare.i did, my 1st gen airpods battery performance deteriorated after the 12 months warranty period which i expect would happen to APM with my trend of usage
That's why I don't really understand why people are spending 100+ buying additional cases for protection. To me AC+ is a much better investment and for sure (almost 100% guarantee, given the history of AirPods) battery will go bad within 2 years. It's a no brainer. That’s a really good point about the battery. Another reason to get AppleCare.
People buy cases because they don’t want to wait weeks to have a functioning device in their hands if it has to get repaired. That's why I don't really understand why people are spending 100+ buying additional cases for protection. Rubbish lol. I had a iMac screen replaced 2 years out of warranty for free. Maybe if you were a bit nicer to them they would of helped you out.Hell no. Every time when I actually had failure that required AppleCare, my AppleCare was expired.
Even if it is only 1 month expired, Apple will not fix it. Even if it is due to a wide-spread issue that Apple knows about, so it was not caused by me but due to a design error on Apple side.
So I say no to AppleCare, it is a total waste of money. If a product is going to fail, it will usually happen outside the AppleCare warranty.
AC+ turn around time is extremely fast, at least in the US. I just had my iPad replaced and received it in 2 days.People buy cases because they don’t want to wait weeks to have a functioning device in their hands if it has to get repaired.

Like my AirPods Pro, Apple replaced it out of warranty (1 year plus a few days.. LOL) in their replacement program. So I’ve got another pair of AirPods Pro with a new battery inside AND saved the AppleCare money.
I’ve been buying numerous Apple products since 2006 and the ONLY thing that actually went out of order after the warranty period was my first gen iPad Pro. But my credit card covered it so the repair was still free for me. The AppleCare money I saved on all those devices is worth several new Apple gadgets.
Apple usually will have an exchange program if there is any widespread issues.
Also, I never bring my AirPods Max outside so I don’t think there is any chance it will suddenly not work due to my mishandling.
