AppleCare Plus for Sport in US = $49. $49 = £33. Allowing for taxes, and rounding it up, it should be £39, but its £49.

AppleCare Plus for Collection in US - $69. $69 = £46. Using the same method, it should be £49, or at least £59. However, its the same, £69.

AppleCare Plus for Edition in US - $1500. $1500 = £1020. Using the same method, it should be £1099, or at least £1119. Regardless of that, AppleCare Plus is £1500.

I really think the prices should be lower in the UK.

You may say that, but prices are not adjusted only to tax rates/currency rates. They are also adjusted according to purchasing power and stricter consumer regulations that makes it more expensive in the long run. In Norway where I live we enjoy extremely strict consumer regulations in favor of the consumer, 25% VAT and strong purchasing power. An iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB is 9590 NOK ($US 1200) in Norway and $US 949 in the US. That's even more expensive than in the UK (GBP 789 / $US 1170).

$1,500 (or equivalent) insurance for a watch / device, which doesn't include accidental damage?

What does this cover, that wouldn't be covered under the minimum 2-year EU guarantee? Just curious..

It gives you one more year of warranty and it has accidental damage coverage (for 2 incidents), but you just have to pay an extra $1000 as a deductible.

I still think that edition users are losing £300

You're forgetting about all the other costs of selling products like this in the UK.

There are import duties and the "music tax" on anything that can contain a copy of music.

Off Topic - Turn off Notifications?

Sorry for the off topic post but does anyone know how to turn off System notifications for Yosemitie and iTunes updates? I'm skipping this round of updates, have been burned too many times in the last year but the constant prompts to update is driving me insane and it's not part of the regular Notifications window.

Outrageous

The "edition" is an absurdity unto itself, but the idea that is would cost so much more to service, is beyond me.
Let's just say that apple, today values the components of the edition at $120. By the time applecare actually kicks in, they will be worth half of that at most. The idea that your $20/day ($17,000 / 800 days) watch will only cost you $2500 for those last 300 days may seem like a relative bargain, but it is offensive from the perspective of a tech company.
I appreciate that apple / Johnny Ive design has value, but this gouging of their fans is unconscionable.

Saw this…

Apple is also offering AppleCare+ combo plans that cover both an Apple Watch and iPhone

…and thought "Oh that's nice of Apple to give us a combo discount."

Then saw this…

These plans are likely offered for convenience purposes, rather than being a discount, as they cost one dollar more than purchasing AppleCare+ for Apple Watch and iPhone separately.

Does anyone know if apple care can be bought later? I was in a hurry to preorder but did not select apple care for the watch.

Hahahaha paying for 3 years of AppleCare on a watch is absurdly funny. Good luck to all the born-suckers out there. Even Citizen watches come with a free 5 year warranty.
