Hey i just want to know where is the cheapest place to get AppleCare for the latest iMac? i want to give it as a present so it has to be brand new in the box. I hear so many horror stories about applecare from ebay so i'll stay away from there.
Thanks

If you don't want to worry, buy from Apple. You should also make sure that the iMac is less than one year from the date of purchase, otherwise you're throwing money away.

If you can use an Educational discount you can get it for 119 directly from Apple.

I have heard, though I have NO first hand knowledge, that they don't verify your educational status if you do it online. 😉

Amazon and LA Computer Company also sell AppleCare at discounted prices.

B&H has it for $122. If you buy an iMac with it, then it's 50% off so $61. That's what I did when I ordered my first iMac a few days ago 🙂

Thanks.. i didn't know that student discount works on applecare. I'll go to apple store with my student id to get it. That way i don't have to wait for it in the mail.

Thanks for the tip.
