Never used AppleCare and probably never will. Good warranty rules and consumer laws in Norway. 2-5 years coverage is required by law. Theft, loss and dumbass damage goes through normal insurance.

It doesn't make sense to buy AppleCare+ in a lump sum if you change every year.

If you upgrade in a year, Apple will allow you to transfer your remaining 1 year of AppleCare+ to the new device, as long as the AppleCare the following year remains the same price. You can also have them refund you the remaining year instead. So doing the Lump Sum option still works out to be cheaper.

The monthly price for AppleCare is great for someone who wants a bit more flexibility, and may potentially want to cut service short before the first year is up.

The glass is the best ever glass on a smartphone, it's 4 times less likely to break.

Will you be putting your money where your mouth is on that Apple and reducing AppleCare or screen replacement costs?

Er, no. Give us cash.

Sweet! I would not buy a new phone or almost any Apple product without Applecare+ now. I have only damaged 3 Apple products in the last 20 years, but if I had Applecare it would of cost me less to repair and been easier and quicker to resolve. Its a no brainer for me. 👍

Never bought Applecare for any of my Apple products and I don't intend to start now.

In the UK we can claim off our home insurance for stuff assuming we set a low excess, mine is £50 and I have accidental damage for contents in my house both indoors and outside.

To be fair, I would only claim if my iPhone were still within the first year or for our Macbooks as it would not be worth it otherwise.

And the insurance company just increase the premium each for each subsequent year till they’ve got their money back (plus a little extra). It’s literally the worst way to insure a gadget 😬

And if they do you can move to another company...

I never paid for AppleCare with any of my iPhones. I saved enough money over the years from not paying for it, that this upgrade is basically free.

Actually it makes total sense. If you're paying monthly at 0% interest you pay the same amount no matter which phone you have, so you may as well have the newest available. Finance people would tell you it makes no sense not to do this.

It ONLY makes sense if you use the iPhone Upgrade Program, are located in the USA and you keep the same storage option of the phone you had to the one you upgrade to.

you can’t keep same price going from 64GB:256GB I’m sure Apple is not THAT stupid.
