When you register an AppleCare for iPhone in US...where do you leave your iPhone if it has a problem? AT&T or Apple?

I ask it because where I live there is no AppleCare support for iPhone. The warranty is from carriers just for 1 year.

But would it be possible to repair it when I go to US? Even if iPhone was purchased outside US?

No, Applecare is only valid on the country the iphone was purchased.
If theres no Apple store near you can contact Applecare and do the exchange thru the mail.
