I have until October to get applecare for my nano, and i am wondering if it is worth it. It would only be $47, but if people don't think it is worth it, then i won't get it. It only covers my ipod for another year, are there any major issues that are known to occur on nanos (other than the scratching)? Also, a weird applecare question- suppose something goes wrong with my nano, and i send it in to get replaced. Could i get a different ipod (thinking 4G) instead?

Little grey, chilly island.
They'll probably just give you a new Nano (or a refurb nano more likely). They still give out the old-style Minis now if somebody has a faulty one.

Either way, that $50 would be better off going toward a new one surely? You know you'll want one!! The flash drive means that the harddriove can't break(!) and basically it's a pretty solid device.

I vote no! :)
