Wholly ****** there are some absolute d**ks on this forum. "why should we subsidies idiotic behaviour?" WTF?!?! OP you had better not use a service that you have paid for just encase "your" specific case out of the 10000xxxx other claims, is the claim that increases premiums for thousands of other people who do the same thing!!

Applecare+ is not a fluctuating insurance policy.

Hey iConnected, if there are iPhone owners who both live in one set of apartments. One owner lives on the ground floor by themselves, while the other lives on the tenth floor with children. Surely the 10th floor owner has a higher risk of damaging the phone (dropping it over the balcony) than the ground floor owner??? Why are they paying the same rate? Shouldn't it be a variable insurance rate?

IConnected, what about the number of claims made in the last 4 years? Surely applecare + would be interested to know what type of risk a client is to their insurance policy? Surely this question must be asked on the application form??? Oh wait, it isn't. That's odd.

OP, throw your phone on the ground, smash the screen, and say whatever you want to the insurance specialist (oh wait, I mean a genius) and get what you have paid for.

Honestly, the only idiotic behaviour I notice in the OP's post was that he played for applecare +.

From my understanding Apple Care + is not insurance, its an extended warrenty that includes accidental damage. Why is everyone so serious

I'm going to guess that they think OP's action and similar ones are the root cause as to why Apple raised their replacement cost. I recall there was a rather long discussion about that. Do whatever you want OP, frankly even if you don't do it I'm sure tons of people are doing the exact same thing.

i got drunk last week at a party and apparently dropped my iPhone 6 a few times and threw it across the street (kinda impressed what it can endure btw) but now i have a few bumps and scratches on the back and frame but the display is in perfect condition. can i use one of my two apple care+ replacements for this or is it considered "cosmetic"?

thx!

That's not an accident boys. Deliberate

Au contraire mon frere.

AppleCare+ is a type of insurance product. Hence why adding it is a little less straight forward than regular AppleCare (such as device inspection, the shorter 60 day purchase window, the legal requirement to mention it to customers during checkout and had them the terms and conditions upon purchase etc).

OP, you'll probably be able to use one of your two claims to replace the device if you speak to someone who a) isn't bothered, or b) will want to avoid an argument. That being said, check your terms and conditions. Technically, this kind of this shouldn't be covered.
