So I haven't purchased applecare since the iPhone X days and it seems like they increase the price significantly. If I"m reading this correctly:

Applecare+ 2yr: $199
Screen Replacement Deductible: $29
Phone Replacement Deductible: $99
Out of warranty for Pro Max: $599
Out of warranty for Pro: $499

So if I dropped my phone than the max I may pay is $300. Price vs going it without applecare is an additional $299.

Squaretrade is even more expensive:

Squaretrade: $8.99. For 2 years this is $216
Deductible for anything: $149

These prices seem bonkers. Do people still buy warranty anymore vs just buy a case and screen shield?

I use Apple care all the time my dog keeps eating my beats pros and Apple care works every time.
Usually use Apple care on every device usually low battery status when it’s almost two years old and I get a new refurbished device with a 100% battery.

I always have it. Paid monthly it’s a very small amount of peace of mind if the worst was to happen. However, I’ve also got the theft & loss version (just in case).

Yes.
AppleCare+ & Naked phone >>>>>> No AppleCare & covering up beautiful device.

Theft and Loss has made it even more appealing.

For me at any rate. YMMV

Never got it before on any of my devices but if I do decide to get the new Pro Max I think considering the cost of out of warranty repairs AppleCare+ seems like a good idea

I get a new battery and screen at a minimum for every phone before I give it to a family member.

Gotten some replaced like when I flipped a RZR and my 6s Plus actually bent under my seatbelt.

Its insurance. Peace of mind.

Sometimes you get way more in return, sometimes you don’t. I feel like a net zero at least, with potential for gains if any accidents occur.

I always gets AppleCare+ with the Theft protection, I do the monthly so I can renew every 2 years now that Apple allows you to renew it after the initial 2yrs expire.

As for why, I'm not gonna go with no insurance on my new 13 Pro Max 1TB that cost me $1728 after taxes, broken down to $44.45 a month on at&t, the extra $128 was tax.

Careless and reckless people that fail to take care of their stuff. They are the ones to always get it. They break and lose phones with zero f’s given. I think it’s appalling and very ungrateful on their behalf.
Sorry but not correct, I've never damaged an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook, but still get AppleCare+ because I like peace of mind, cause you know accidents happen.

I didn’t get Apple Care on my 8 plus. $350 repair for a broken screen. xs max chipped screen following fall on floor. Didn’t repair it lol live with it due to $400 repair bill. Needless to say I got apple care for my current phone.

i’ve gotten AC+ maybe once. i didn’t drop the phone and didn’t scratch the screen. usually if the phone is going to fail, it’ll be in the first year so i’m covered with manufacturing warranty

There’s a discretion as well. I used my two replacements on my 11PM and never paid the deductible. They sent an express replacement and refunded the full amount of the hold. So it was an even better deal.

I also get it and have used it 3-4 times over the years. Accidents happen. Same reason as why I keep maximum insurance on all my cars and have an umbrella policy as well.

what’s the discretion? Maybe I missed that part of the policy

I buy AppleCare+ but I really hate going to Genius appointments nowadays.

I’ve been denied service more times than I’ve had something fixed so Genius sessions feel more like going to court than getting paid “privileged” support. And now that they are so scripted to deny obvious issues and quit covering accessories (Apple Cases, Lightning Cables) then I honestly don’t know why I keep paying for it.

Same. You can be the most careful person in the world and still get into an accident, get robbed, etc. My dad wished he had AppleCare+ when his phone was lost.

Just literally bought Apple care + for both my iPhone 13 Pm and Airpods Pro! Well worth it for me!
