    Hi,

Can I transfer my applecare plan from my imac 2011 to a new imac 2012 - I'm based in Europe if that makes any difference ?

    Thanks

    Nope.
Apple Care is bound to the machine and not to a person, thus even a stolen Mac is covered by Apple Care.

You can not transfer. What you can do, is call Apple and they will pro-rate it and refund you the difference. Which you will receive a cheque from Apple then. I did this myself and just put the money towards new Applecare.

You can under certain circumstances that you have the machine replaced, they have been able to transfer.

However IMO its better to get a new warranty to cover the entire lifespan of the new Mac as the warranty for 2011 iMac will only cover the remainder of that imacs warranty.
